Brief update, launched multi-player game with same friend using tunngle, and game runs perfect, no disconnects, although I did get the sound disappearing once.

Update: Game runs flawless single player, only have issue with the disconnects in multiplayer. Plays along for 5 or 6 turns, then hangs, and goes back to the menu, showing [connection lost] message. Can hit the steam friends list, and join right back in, then repeats, runs for 5 or 6 turns, and same...

Connected directly to ethernet port on D-link DIR-655 normally.
Tried playing for a bit directly connected to the DSL modem bypassing the router, just to rule out an issue with the router.

Sound seems to work now that I removed the duplicate entry in my device manager.
Still having issue with steam install playing mutliplayer.

Drops connection about every 5-6 turns, pretty consistently.

Any thoughts on the d/c's?

Hmm, nope, launched into mp game hosted by someone through steam, load in game, sound gone.
Alt tab out, sound everywhere, even pandora launcher, but not in game.

Quick update, the sound works now, had a conflict in device manager on the onboard sound.
