what about small battle groups of caledonians( 6 bases, I think) to support the spear and find flanks. Might be wishful thinking with undrilled foot however.
I also thought about the Saxon ally which gives you a couple of 4 base superior impact HF groups.

have there been any errata to the Early Pictish list? I notice that the starter army example in theList Book does not have the minimum 32 spearmen prescribed in the list.
