I am not sure what you mean by DUMBO. But you can get any unit in any roster simply by editing the Squads File in the Data directory. There you will find evey unit and even the Ghost , Shadow and Demon units. If you want to use any unit in there you simply add or change the MadeBy statement to whate...

Any Unit at lvl 100 unlocks all the skills available and a host of Upgrades otherwise not available. Be careful though somewhere around lvl 128 or so you won't be able to run the scenario if you choose all of the n/a options for skills.

Yes well the number one advantage that wargames tend to have is the ability to see your opponent at all times where they are and thier heading etc. Wargames tend to have 'SUPER RADAR'. Setting traps and ambushes , which is very common in 'REAL' war is usually just about impossible in most wargames. ...

Funny didnt see this mentioned, but does anyone use the advanced formation Square? I Simply put my two best archers on the elephants and place two good heavy infantry in front of them in Square formation and fagettabout it... I focus on destroying the rest of the army. If the units by some mischance...

Nope Never Read Bodyguard of lightning. Glad that Slitherine wants to hear crazy ides if nothing other than an outlet for thier players. Can you give us some idea of the direction you are going with some of them? A sneak peak or a work in progress sorta thing? Also, since Legion II is on hold, what ...

Sorry to lag so much on this reply and thanks for answering. I was playing the Gauls and could build the Hall, but not the unit it was a bit frustrating at the time. Also Captured cites would have the hall as any Nationality. I played as the Gauls, Germans and Romans. Romans Had Praetorians and Glad...

I just completed an interesting experiment which may take this thread in potentially a new direction. I configured 2 Units (Triari in this Case since they dont have the missle variable) and configured them at maximum exp and equip for head to head play. I Configured one Triari on ALL OFFENCE. Every ...

Yes Possum as stated they are only 24 units but I like to get a Noble or Aux Cav early on and virtually Cruise through the early Scenarios with all the light troops there. This is a typical build I will do. 1st Unit = Aux Inf or Warrior 2nd Unit = Noble or Aux cav ( I buy Militia and skirmishers and...

Well thank you. It can definitely get tense and I had to rethink the way I play a lot of the scenarios. For me it's all about Troop quality and composition. I find it gets real easy once your troops get up to snuff, except for the time constrained scenarios those can be a pita since the fights just ...

Defensive VS AGGRESIVE VS Balanced , OR USE THE FORCE LUKE!

Well I didn't disagree about the Celtic POWAH. Just finished the Britannia Campaign at very hard and it was generally much easier than the Roman Campaign with a couple exceptions. And the Gallic Campaign is just easier , so I am sure that woudl be a relative cakewalk now that I have done Roman and B...

The AI Bonuses must be very significant, and the + to hps and to hit too ... enough to make for a 5+ lvl difference in effectiveness? Because a single LVL X Unit that is well equipped in this game vs 4+ Lvl X Units not as well equipped in terrain that favors both I can see. But otherwise I can't.

Funny comment about fanatics ..in my view they suck totally, Spent way too much time developing fanatic units only to see them run from any kind of fight. But my point is not unit vs unit as much as the actual changes I have witnessed going from Hard to very hard...Its not the only incongruity only ...

Very Hard is well... different

Had some interesting experiences so far in very hard mode. LVL 5 Heavy Infantry destroying LVL 13 Lt Infantry on Scrub ..and taking like no casualties. Lvl 5 Heavy infantry facing 4 lvl 13 Heavy cavalry units and winning again taking little or no casualties. Very interesting....to say the least. See...

Yes, Crossing the Rubicon is very difficult with any mix of forces due to the lvl 16 archers .. even with cavalry units they need to have good missle defence( or large numbers) to guarantee that they can rip the archers before getting ripped themselves. That said it's not that its impossible to clea...

I may try the Roman Campaign at Very Hard as that is the longe...

Britannica Mod

Actually that was a really fun mod yes I played it several times, thank you! Just played it through today for the third time in fact. As far as the Difficulty slider I think I will try it... But after playing the game for about a week I have churned through the scenarios too many times already I thi...

Legion Arena , An excellent start

Just purchased and finished playing Legion arena about 10 times with all the different mods and as the 'latins' Romans and Celts. The combat / Battlefield strategy in this game has incredible depth and versatility. I found I was able to be succesful with several different types of troop compositions...
