Re: Skirmishers
What you say sounds good, if you want a more abstracted feel. I find that´s also ok, BUT in that case, the current system should modified as well... As it stands now, your skirmishers chance of hurting the enemy is identical wether he has skirmishers as well or not, which can´t be right. I think the...

Re: Skirmishers
Carriage and Saxonian: Yes, I think it´s mainly a doctrinal thing: In true Frederickian style, formed troops shouldn´t worry at all by skirmishers, as that may break the order of your lines and be a waste of ammunition. The fact is, one of the main effects of frensh skirmishers against "old&quo...

Re: Wheel before pursuit?
Thanks MikeK!
I think there should be a cross-reference to that rule within the Pursuit section of the rules.

Re: Recovery while in contact?
No, recovery is not a CMT, it never requires CPs. It´s just a "free" action of every commander at the end of the turn. Edit: Well, it seems odd to me that a unit can recover a cohesion state while it is involved in close combat. It goes against usual conventions in games of this period (on...

Wheel before pursuit?
Hello,
Here goes another doubt:
Is the pursuer allowed to make any wheel before or during a pursuit move? And any slide? Otherwise the pursued guys are allowed to slide and their pursuers not.
Thanks!

Re: Skirmishers
Hazelbark: Thanks for your clarification. I hadn´t realised that Medium fire needs 5 or 6 to hit, while Close fire also hits with a 4. That partially solves the problem. But some problems remain: With the current rules, your skirmish fire is going to cause the same amount of casualties to an Unrefor...

Recovery while in contact?
Is it possible to make recover rolls for a unit that is in contact with the enemy? I can´t locate any prohibition against it in the rules. The rules mention that commanders can´t try to recovery troops while they are leading a unit in combat, but that leaves the door open to recovery from commanders...

Re: Shooting at Extended Line from a Building???
I also agree about having a strange feeling about troops being able to eject defenders from villages merely by firing. Related to the above, I have one question about melees in buildings. The rules as written seem to imply that the attackers only get 4 dice, no matter how many units they put into th...

Re: QRS etc: Any Closer to Being Posted???
You say the CMT is to press home the charge, which makes sense to me. But... the new QRS table says it is "to advance during the next movement phase". ?? May be it should say: "Assaulting unit is stopped at 2 MU (3MU if Cav without horse arty, or if Wavering inf or cav), unless it pas...

Re: The Grand Catholic and Royal Army - Flags
Just a suggestion about the flags: If you have good pictures like this, a good flag designer/seller like Adolfo Ramos would be able to have a quality flag made very fast. I have contacted him twice in a similar situation, and he has been very responsive.

Re: QRS etc: Any Closer to Being Posted???
Here go some doubts, regargind QRS pg.2, Results of Firing. With 1 or 2 hits result, the table says: CMT to Advance during the next movement phase Cavalry and Wavering units retire to 3MU if closer, (may choose to stay with 2MU with artillery attachment). This means, that if the firing was made in t...

Re: Skirmishers
I think I have a problem with the Evade rule for Inf Skirmishers. Specifically, the first bullet of page 30. The last phrase states that "Units passed through take a Cohesion Test." This means that Evading skirmishers (which is a kind of "voluntary" or commanded action, not a pan...
