For the electronic version, wouldn't they be exactly the same (European vs. American) ? Whats the difference where the file ends up? Am I missing something?

If I buy the 'regular' CEAW, can I upgrade to 'Gold'? Or do I have to buy 'Gold', also? What about a reasonable upgrade plan if you already bought 'regular'? I want to buy this title, but for now I am waiting for 'Gold'.
