Re: Best campaign to start with - default or GC?
Welcome aster! There are what if's similar to the old Panzer General. And yes, try vanilla before Afrika. Afrika korps the british start with better tanks and airforce than you! As for Grand Campaign, I've never got past 42, but I guess you can start using some experimental bombers and fighters in 4...

Re: Allied Corps way to easy?
as far as "realistic campaigns" I admit it is interesting but it might not be so fun. I played a Russian Mod where you started out in Siberia and your planes had equal or worse stats than the Japanese planes, and your infantry was worse. It's not fun when you lost 20 units out of your core...

Re: Which new content would you prefer?
Couldn't they enlist some of us faithful forumgoers to help them in a "volunteer" capacity (maybe as compensation, give us the DLCs at some sort of discount for helping out?). I for one, would be happy to playtest or even learn some of the coding or scripting if it meant they could develop...

Re: Which new content would you prefer?
soviet corps GC, allied corps GC I think are the highest on my wish list (in whatever order, both would be nice).

Re: Allied Corps Grand Campaigns
I would like to say that I would support a Grand Allied Campaign as well, and a Pacific Corps. And an XXX corps. After Soviet corps forget about new corps, just add GC for everything, I can assure you it would be a first-day purchase for me.

yes it is 120%. I checked it.Forefall wrote:So apparently the SDKFZ 7/1 has 120% rof. I'm on Ipad, can anyone confirm this? Does any other AA have differing rates of fire?

Re: How does Attack vs Defence actually figure in damage
Under 1.2 rules, fighters get +2 air attack per star (same as AA). This could explain why you're getting shredded more often than you expect. I used to field a big air force but am currently favouring more AA as I seem to take less overall damage that way. I thought the anti-air was interesting, bu...

Re: 2 questions for the experts:
Is that really the formula? Then my 103 kill hero who killed 4 units had a 4/297 to get a hero! truly remarkable. I thought it was a sliding scale, something like total kills / kills max. But instead it seems more like the probability would only spike at the very end. In fact, I plotted the probabil...

Re: Whats the fastest way to gain experience for your units?
I found that if your delta between defense and attack is greater you gain more experience. ie attacking a 4 or 5 fortified guy in the city will net significantly more experience than a 0 fortification.

Re: Question on intiative, suppression and combat mechanics
My guess is that kills and suppression are calculated separately not as a lump sum. But I could be wrong

Re: Question on intiative, suppression and combat mechanics
Ok I just read the "initiative explained part 2" thread, and let's try to explain your most recent screenshot: what +1 initiative means is that 20% of your units "fire first" before any of the enemy is able to fire: if any of those hit, then you multiply again your kill / suppres...

Re: Question on intiative, suppression and combat mechanics
these are weird screenshots, they don't agree with my understanding of initiative and suppression either....perhaps they are from an earlier patch?

I'm sorry, I must be thinking of Sevastapol Assault, Simferopol was the one before that....I remember that was back in the day when I overstrengthed every unit to the maximum....that probably helped

that's true, next time I do an air attack I'll check the advanced combat detail and see if there are any modifiers

Re: Most hated scenarios
Streets of Moscow is very depressing, so is Demyansk Pocket. It killed my will to battle against those waves of conscripts in Moskva. I don't think Simferopol was that bad, to be honest, my big guns made short work of the fortresses.

Re: Inferno: A Red Army Campaign - full release v 0.85
what difficulty level is this meant to be played on? I am playing on field marshal and my units are barely getting trickles of experience, is this intentional? Also the only way I seem to defeat japanese fighters is to surround them with 6 units and pick them off 1 by 1... I must say playing as the ...

can i have a translation from german to english?

Re: Combat Details: Attack and Defense?
I made a table with Goliath's formulas from -10 < X < 10, where X = effective attack - effective defense. http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=121&t=48173 , In your example screenshot, I see X = 4. If you look at this table, yours is a direct fire unit (Pz IIIH), so 30% miss, 58% kill...
