the downsides that i see is that they would need to give a cut to steam, and at the same time have at least a person in charge of dealing with steam relations/issues. hence an increased cost of doing business. the cost of increasing business means more people posting on their forums and bugging them...

try the ingame civilopedia equivalent, in any civ like game it is vastly more useful than the manual.

i think the game needs to last a bit longer before that becomes a real option, but ya oceans are easily ignored at this point in time. i hope that when they make pandora 2 that ocean is given serious consideration, unlike pretty much every 4x game out there (aside from SMAC and CtP1).

well any faction can plop down a forest and gain the antipollution benefit from a tile they wouldn't bother to work anyway. if you have plains that give 1 food you can plop down a farm and get more food from it than you would a forest, hills with mines match TS forests for minerals, so mountains wit...

well in general the issue with the factions is that their bonuses tend to get diluted during the game, so i would give bonuses to each faction when they research certain faction related techs, like when terra salvum researches fungus cultivation they stop taking damage from fungus, when they researc...

i would prefer that the other factions get buffed to be at Solar Dynasty level, so that they end up playing very different than each other, instead of nerfing the factions so they have less bonuses. i think that Terra Salvum should get +1 to food and minerals for forests, and the fungus bonus should...
