Re: Derby Worlds 2017
If places are still available Andy and I +! (possibly Will if available) would make up a 7th team.

Sadly not one I can do as it's the first Saturday of the month - out of bounds without considerable negotiation.

Re: Dragoons - proposal
I note the routed Dragoons but - surely in pursuit (admittedly not that frequent) they'd also be back on their horses ? So might suggest [if routing or pursuing]. In the line above?

Re: Is it really the rules or is it...
Simon that works in favour of high point/ base small armies where the max you can get is the number of bases the person has in his army so a 50 base army is worth 50 if you kill it a 100 base army 100. But I do like the basic concept. So how about 1 point per % of enemy army units killed at the end ...

Just added myself to the FOG R 25mm. Mainly as I didn't want to play 5 games against Keith

Should be able to attend for this one. I'll see if I can get any of the rest of our lot up that early on a Sunday
(unlikely).

I like big armies too Bob but we come up against the time we need to complete a game & I wonder if fighting against something like Hawaiian or Western Sudanese there is any way to ever break a 23 or 24 unit army...

I am informed June 11th (which I'm assuming is a Sunday) is viable.

Re: Is it really the rules or is it...
I must admit the I thought the need for an asprin after a couple of games was just me - glad there are a couple of others fessing up on that one. The recent Oxford 28mm competition worked well - with 2 and a half games per day (stopping game 3 after an hour and a half and continuing the following mo...

Re: Oxford 25 mm Competition - 29th and 30th October 2016
Just seen Bob's email. I'm going to struggle with the 5 game format as I have a 2 hour drive each way to contend with - so may I have to concede game 3. I'll see how I'm doing on Saturday. Earlier start isn't a problem but I'd honestly rather not have a (close to) 16 hour day including the commute.

Well I have at least five in period armies that I have not used before in competition that could be in the mix. Two of those have never been on the table before (at the club let alone a competition).

I confess my choice is out of sheer laziness as the army (post Derby) was in a box and more or less in good order. It was either that or finish painting my Tercios

Re: Oxford 25 mm Competition - 29th and 30th October 2016
Acknowledged. - probably have to get them too you early next week. Mine will work on the principle design a small army then add 60 points at a time to get the bigger ones, so hopefully if the core army is OK the larger ones will be too as you'll only need to check the changes. Now all I need to do i...

Re: Derby World Teams, 1/2 October 2016 - Themes confirmed
I've just seen Kevin's email about the overall results. The last game between myself and Denis seems to have been incorrectly scored by a very significant margin (it was the only one we won in the last round so it's kind of noticeable) . This won't make any difference to the overall team standings i...

Thanks to all my opponents - especially to my Saturday opponents for their patience during my early tournament dice depression :-( . (Must find a way of warming my dice up earlier)! Commiserations especially to Bob who was the victim of the turn in my luck, in a very see-saw game - you were so close...

Re: Oxford 25 mm Competition - 29th and 30th October 2016
I suspect that depends Nigel. I can see "Heavy" chariots as DH (e.g. Assyrian 4 horse types), but it would be stretching it a bit for Ancient Brit or Egyptians who (given their ability to skirmish in the ancients rules) sound more like cavalry.
