Damn nice find Crispy, i totally forgot about trying the Proton Experimental build. Just tested it mysef and yup sadly the graphics are all bugged as you described but at least it's a step in the right direction and the battles are finally playable (kinda).

Thanks a lot pip, i did a bit of digging last night myself and came across Valves github for Proton. An issue report for Legion Gold was posted with the same issue i decribed back in 2022. Provided link below, might be of interest.

This is probably a total shot in the dark but i'm gonna try and ask. Legion Gold works almost perfectly on the Steam Deck, even the default Steam Deck controls work fine.
