Alright, It has worked - I had to run the patch from the inside the pcorps directory. It is either a weird glitch, my ignorance or a diffrent kind of a 'user friendly' approach

The download and unpacking went fine, when run it only shows an 'launcher error' window with 'cannot open setup file'. I'm on up to date windows 7, 32bit. Any solutions? Also the game tends to crash ever more often when moving a unit. When closed, quite a few (usually 20+) AC3 codec icons are active...

Thanks but that is not the issue - I've downloaded it from both sources and it's the same result - launcher error, unable to open setup file.

The patch won't install: Launcher error 'unable to open setup file'. Has anybody had this problem, any solutions?

I am running it in admin mode and game folders aren't 'read only'.
