for me the problem was the color definition of my PC (windows 7). I think you have to disable (or to enable) Aero.

I just installed a new game on my PC and now after many tries no more flashs and the game seems OK.
I got just a message concerning the basic color of windows 7 and after that it's ok ...

When I click on icon CTGW, I have a window with the menu "Play to CTGW" "Search of update" and so on : no problem.
When I click on "Play", there is a picture of german soldiers with the menu "Solo" ... : the picture flashes ...
