Re: Steam Release?

No we don't have a Steam release confirmed at the moment. It is something we are considering but can't promise. If we do, as I understand it we will be able to give Steam keys to existing players so if we are permitted to do so we will but I can't promise that Steam will allow that as they may chan...

Re: End of the Beta

It was fun. Great game with a lot of untapped potential. Any plans for a steam release? It would be a shame if the game doesn't get the sales it's capable of because of a lack of exposure.

Re: Status Report - Getting To Release

I really hope it does well! Any plans to bring it to Steam? I fear getting exposure is an uphill battle without a place on the Steam storefront.

Re: stop growth

My suggestion is making 'Emigration' a production menu option so that there's a serious drawback to it that makes it a strategic option for developing colonies quickly rather than the tedious micromanagement that it would devolve into without any drawback. I joined the beta after they removed it but...

I had some serious issues with starting a multiplayer game.

-Friends couldn't join servers. -User Triptamine had repeated game crashes when logging in to multiplayer until he restarted his computer. -User UltimateEnd was getting 'Unkown' error messages when trying to join a game. -It would take several (5-6) tries for Users UltimateEnd and Emperor_Blarg to j...

Quick updated feedback on latest rounds of patches.

-Netcode is significantly improved -Flavor text is a great addition -The new fungi system is much more interesting -Being able to turn off the narrator's voice volume is a godsend. -Netcode still has quirks Although I've noticed less lag and no connection drops since the updates, I find that I some...

Re: Diplomacy is making progress

I only know the 'new' version of the game, but I find the diplomacy too monotonous. The AI is repeating the same sayings all the time, and my possibilities to react are also sparse. On the other hand I do know that this is most of all a war-game. It's true that the AI repeats the same sayings const...

Diplomacy is making progress

So I tried a game after the new update, and I already noticed that diplomacy in the early game is considerably more interesting. I found that for the first 40 turns it took much more consideration to get a relationship to the point where I could ask for open borders and trading pacts. I would have t...

Re: Multiplayer feedback

Emperor_Blarg's original issue was fixed. (Very fast, which is awesome)

Now he faces another issue when trying to join a game where joining will occasionally fail with an error reading: cannot connect to Master Server.

It often takes several tries for me to join games he hosts, and vice versa.

Re: Multiplayer feedback

I'll add a ping somewhere and we'll keep an eye on the latency. It could simply be the host or the connection or bandwidth. We do use way more bandwidth than we would have to, there's a lot of room for optimization there. But it sounds like there might be something more going on there. If you play ...

Re: Multiplayer feedback

Did always the same person drop? No, everybody except for the host occasionally dropped. It likely wasn't a problem with a specific host as we changed hosts several times. Something to note is that it wasn't a consistent problem. Sometimes we would have nobody drop for 40 turns and then 2 people wo...

Multiplayer feedback

So me and my friends are trying to get into the multiplayer for the Pandora beta, good multiplayer has always been a serious element of the replayability of a game for us. This is what I've noticed so far: What's good: -Turn times are awesome! After playing Civ 5 multiplayer the turn times are fanta...

Re: First Impressions.

I'm not sure how you would be able to click on tiles when population works specific resources rather than tiles. What would happen if you have 1 person and you click on a tile with 1 mineral and 1 food?

My issue with the diplomacy AI.

The economic and military AI is really impressive; it's so refreshingly challenging compared to the Civ5 ai. My only problem with the AI lies in how it acts diplomatically. The problem I have with it is that the AI's stance towards the player is generally cemented within the first ten turns of meeti...

On idea on how to bring back population controls.

The explanation for removing them as they were made a lot of sense: it felt like very tedious micromanagement to oversee migration in every city. The problem is that now my tools for changing the pace of growth feel very limited and population controls feel like a very natural fit for the game. Mayb...

I wish I could attach my savegame but the forum won't let me. Here's the log from PandoraServer: [2013-Oct-16 01:05:37] C:\Program Files (x86)\Proxy Studios\Pandora Beta\Binaries\PandoraServer.exe [2013-Oct-16 01:05:37] Pandora Server 0.25.1 (r3999, Beta 1, Windows-x86_32 Oct 15 2013 21:27:30) [2013...

New update has made my game less stable. (2.5.1)

Since the update I've noticed my game keeps consistently crashing after a several turns. I had no stability problems during many games before the update. I can't seem to upload the log so I've included it in a quote: [2013-Oct-16 00:35:33] EventsList.cpp(85): bool pandora::client::gui::world::map::E...

Re: TONS of Feedback and suggestions (Oct. 14)

It's awesome how responsive you guys are to beta testers. Heya Flavorable, Thanks a bunch for the very encouraging feedback! From a gameplay point of view giving fungus positive instead of negative pollution sounds like an amazing idea, and can also be justified from a lore point of view: pollution ...
