Battle goups and marching order

Please forgive me I'm an old Nappy player, I'm new to this stuff, but how are the battle groups arranged(what makes up a battle group) and what does the march order represent??? I know it's in the book but where?? :?: :cry: :(

I haven't played a game yet, I'm still going over the rules and when I read that part it just didn't make since to me nor could I find why they would charge if they failed anything(roll).
