A shame this demo had such a short time of availability. Hope you'll extend it.

Re: POTZBLITZ V5.35 (BETA), NOV 23th
nehi, Thanks for the timely help, got the Potzblitz mod working correctly now. Wow what a difference, printed out the whole 99 page PDF file to better digest all of the new wrinkles. Ran through a few turns as Serbia and can see some changes to staring lineups as well. Looks like it'll take a little...

nehi,
Okay now that makes sense. I was only looking at the hotfix install note. Will download and apply the 4.7 mod before the hotfix.

Re: POTZBLITZ V5.35 (BETA), NOV 23th
Sadly the game crashes when trying to play now after I copied in the Potzblitz mod into the data folder and overwriting almost 500 files. I hope Robotron has some useful ideas on how to get game working again with mod otherwise it's game over for CTGW. crashing vanilla or potzblitz? i have both sep...

Re: POTZBLITZ V5.35 (BETA), NOV 23th
I'm wondering where that 98 page PDF file is that's mentioned in the initial description post here. I looked through all files but couldn't find the PDF file that explains what's new in Potzblitz.

No problem, had to ask. Lordz really dropped the ball on this. It will be interesting to play this after playing the vanilla version.

Re: POTZBLITZ V5.35 (BETA), NOV 23th
Robotron, Your extensive mod looks interesting. I'm still learning the vanilla game but am interested in giving this a try afterwards to see how it improves and varies the vanilla game. Looks like some interesting events and definitely will have to play Russia more carefully than in vanilla version....

Re: hotseat
We have hotseat support on our feature update list... ;-) A real shame that 5 years later and there's still no hotseat mode for CTGW. I hope you at Lordz get a clue that playing against lame Artificial Ignorances isn't fun. Can we play PBEM solo by creating a new Slitherine account or do we have to...

Re: Modding and scenario/campaign creation
I would like to see the ability to add leaders or unit citations to scenarios created by us, or even canned ones we might want to modify. It would be nice to see them in regular canned scenarios so we can enjoy these cool features without having to play campaign games. Plus both sides should be able...

Afrika Korps at Alam Halfa
I decided to play the Afrika Korps campaign to activate the named field marshal's feature. Here's a YouTube video showing my battle at Alam Halfa during the campaign. I opted to change Rommel's historical battle plan by attacking the Alam Halfa Ridge first from the north instead of the south. I do a...

Basra Clueless Paratroop Defense
I was playing the Basra scenario of the Afrika Korps campaign and saw the dumbest defensive move of all time. Yeah it looked somewhat daunting to see 10 paratroop units show up all of a sudden, but without proper fighter cover it was really like shooting fish in a barrel. On my first turn of respons...

Here's the second AAR video of my solo hotseat battle of Kursk. Now you'll quickly see how the battle turns out as I comment while the replay plays out.

Kursk Battle Video AAR
This is the first of two videos showing me play the Kursk scenario solo in hotseat mode. In this first video I play both sides of the first turn. That way I can explain what I'm doing on each side and why. I also can demonstrate more clearly some aspects of gameplay. The second video will cover the ...

Re: Grand Campaign West 39-45 Guderian
goose_2,
Interesting recap of the first battle I take it. It will be interesting to see the difference between this and your Manstein campaign to see how they play out differently for your core force.

Re: Grand Campaign East 39-45 Manstein level
NightPhoenix, Thanks for thoughtful analysis of the three general levels. I also know you don't get to deploy your whole core force on some maps on Rommel level, but then you have instant reinforcements you don't have to buy. With Guderian you earn less prestige since there are fewer turns to play. ...

Re: Grand Campaign East 39-45 Manstein level
goose_2, I'm thinking that the Manstein level looks to be the most difficult, not the Rommel level. I did look at the setup of I think the second scenario in this campaign and noticed Polish infantry units were mostly 5 pointers. So on Manstein 5 becomes 15 instead of just adding 5? Just think of th...

Do i understand correctly you only played the Stalingrad scenario? Have you played a DLC? ptje63, I first played the France 40 and Barbarossa scenarios before Stalingrad. I'm playing and making a video of Kursk, playing it hotseat solitaire. I just played the Normandy scenario. I'm working my way t...

Panzer Corps Gold Initial Video Review
I recently purchased Panzer Corps Gold and am glad I waited to get the whole series for a mere $40 during the holiday sale. As they say patience is a virtue and I love the virtue of a great deal. Perhaps the best deal ever for a computer war game. A lot of extra content as far as campaigns and their...
