I actually playstested my army against Bilugo before the competition. Originally he was going to enter a Kingdom of Pontus army however they always lost against my Late Period Serbs. So couple of weeks before the comp he switched to Romans, they fared slightly better however in our playtests we used...

Less than 24hrs to go now.

I have heard that a good number of entries have been made. With the somewhat wet weekend on the cards it will be perfect two days of table top gaming as our indoor activity. Good luck to all and take it easy on my army. :)

Sparta win!!! Hoplites rampage through his heavies. Lost one big BG of hoplites though. Now, with less than 2 weeks to go, my unfortunate friend is rethinking his list and choice of army. They havent won one play test. You wouldnt be looking forward to loosing every game at the comp if this is their...

Last week shook it up a little going with Later Ptolemy against his Pontic army. Its the list my friend is sticking with so good for him to have some variation as I am sure there will be a good number of heavies out there. It was like a boxing contest. I had him on the ropes to start off with and th...

Had another play test last night. Went up against the Kingdom of Pontus again as my friend decided he will go with that army at the competition. Once again, the Late period Serbs held their nerve and this time took victory from the clutches of defeat. Previous two games lost no bases, this time one ...

Ahhh, beautiful. Thanks Adrian. Should be sending my list through end of next week. One more go at playtesting and if result is another resounding victory then I wont play around with a list that is working for me. My opponent is going to keep his army choice as a surprise but I am fairly certain he...

Just a question on the deployment. I dont remember seeing any reference to this in your tournament notes. Seeing that terrain will be pre-determined, how would deployment work with respect to who will deploy from which long edge of the table. Terrain can adversly affect someones deployment. My sugge...

I played with my Ptolemy list several months ago and had my pike block routed in one turn, that is the impact phase and melee phase against a Roman Legion BG. It was a "thou shall not pass" statmenet from me that fizzled. The pike had a woods to the right and a steep hill to the left so no...

With the 550 points, the game is fairly quick and the table size works as well. There is some opportunity for flanking. We used the rule books terrain deployment sequence, just reduced the total terrain amount by one for each player. Even then there was lots of terrain. We did go for a full 2 1/2hrs...

Well the Late Period Serbs had a resounding success. Total annihilation of the forces of Pontus. The HA and Armrd Knights crashed into two offensive spearmen BGs and routed them by the end of the phase sequence, although they were helped by some very bad cohesion rolling on my opponents side. Went t...

No worries. Was just a thought. I personally didnt have any issues and like you said, I could put my personal stamp on my list.

First test run tonight against kingdom of Pontus. Hope I can get around those pike on a 4x3foot table and give him some headaches. ^_^

Yes, a result every round which could be a win or total annihilation. Considering its 550 points and the deployment zones have been modified, would there be any change to the required minima from each list. My thoughts are that some army lists could potentially take the required minima and hav...

It seems that you have two threads running for the same tournament. Suggest that you merge them or delet one so it can avoid confusion and having people missing out on pertinant information.

Friend of mine was looking forward to the Teutonics and was dissapointed by the list. Personally I actually like it and think you can draw up a mean force. Doesnt have some things, but is the case with all armies. We cant just have it all and have a 'Superman' army. No fun in that.
