Principate Roman Legionary Lanciarii

Can someone give me an idea what these troops are and what miniatures would work for them?

From what I gather they are either a higher rank of Legionary or light troops.

Or, put differently, neither the casualties or loss of cohesion occur at one given time. Sometime during the combat cohesion drops and enough casualties occur to cause the removal of a base. As far as push-backs: I've seen this argued before. Some people said they never happened, some say they did. ...

Field of Glory Review @ The General's Tent

I know that most people here own the game, but wanted to let everyone know that I have a review of Field of Glory up on my website.

A second vote for W&N Series 7. The best brushes I've owned. However, I find smaller scales are still harsh on brushes, so tend to use cheap synthetic/natural mixes I get from the art store. The stiffer brush allows more of a dabbing way to paint 10mm miniatures, when you just cannot manage a fu...

Web hosting is cheap as a business expense. Payroll would be a bigger cost of getting pictures of an entire miniature line on a website.

It's still worth it and not an excuse, in my opinion.

I do love 6/10mm scale, but would still be doing 1 command per BG, not file. For me, 10mm is not to get more units on the table, but to get a small figure:man scale.

Another vote for personal preference. If you enjoy researching the details, go for it. Otherwise, I see no problem with someone making up details "in the theme" Regarding Carthagian African Spearmen: I don't there was a congress or memo for painting the shields white. Our details are proba...

Modelling unit commanders

I'm a big fan of having musicians, standard bearers and commander types mixed in with my rank and file. With 3-4 figures to a base, I'm not sure how I'd do it for Field of Glory.

I'm planning 28mm. Anyone have any suggestions or examples?

Thanks.

Yep half an hour seems about right, that is quite a long time :) I think if you have spent a lot of points on skirmishers, usually because the army lists MAKE you have them, you don'w want to do nothing with them? Andy Ignore the army lists, have one player take none. I imagine having your impact f...

I'm so sad to hear of Canada's defection to Napoleon's side in the 1800s. If that's the case, you must be nicer on your American cousin's who apparently invaded Canada in 1812 merely to take it back from Boney. And I was so happy to paint some British Redcoats for my 1812 project, now I'll have to r...
