I'm getting that error right now. This summer my computer had to be reformatted and I downgraded from windows 10 to Windows 7 Professional, maybe that has something to do with it.

The most important thing is there must be someone else in the lobby at the same time as yourself in order to play multiplayer.

If there is nobody else in the room, you can't click on host or join so not a bug.

Freezing on truce is a known issue which I don't think was addressed with the 1.02 patch.

Today I was unable to connect to someone that I connected to in the past. We tried nearly a dozen times. Both of us have the Steam version.

I have had this happen quite often to me, I think it means the server is glitched because when it happens, it happens to everybody who tries to connect.

I think there's a problem if both players have the patch with Matrix version trying to connect with Steam version and/or vice versa.

I had the same problem. In order to fix it I used the same resolution for the game as my control panel resolution. Changing the game to windowed or non-windowed might help too.

Because nobody has taken me up on my neutral Belgium challenge, I will play as the Entente in an unmodified game too. So consider this as an offer for you to be the CP with your choice of whether or not to invade Belgium. I am flexible on house rules or lack thereof.

I think they want to port the game to Mac and iOS before they do another patch, so it probably will be quite a long time before you see a new patch.
