My mate and I spent all day sunday wandering round the Triples convention trying to decide between 15 and 10mil for new FoG armies. 10mil won on the grounds that it just looks more like an army on the tabletop.

Personally I'm very cheered to see these EIR in plastic. The Iceni revolt is such an iconic theme that it seems a natural and a strong theme even non-gamers can really understand. ECW may have some wider appeal, but not like Boudicca. And one assumes they'll need this first release to make money :D ...

Ironhand - I have the same problem with everything being rather fuzzier than it used to be. However, I've found the 10s a real boon. You're not painting individuals but an army, and the fact there are so many of them makes people look at the army as a whole not the individual models. 15s are IMO sti...

Thanks Will. That's very helpful.

Don't know why but Xyston figures always look better proportioned (to me) when they're painted than in the bare metal. Nice army!

I'm guessing that some of the troops labelled MF here were classed as HF in DBX (or whatever) and so people may already have them based in 4s. Helps not to have to rebase stuff.

That is only a guess though :)

Some great pictures in these galleries! One thing I would ask: is it possible to note scale and manufacturer? I don't mean an essay (unless you'd like to), but '15mm Two Dragons' or whatever would help point viewers in the right direction. It's frustrating to be inspired and then not know where to g...

It's a real shame you're selling them. I think they look great!

Which manufacturer are they? Magister Militum?

If you are starting out thenr eally start with the Greeks Its an excellent army. Go for Spartans and you get a nice mix of superior and average armoured hoplites if you take the early period. Very tough stuff frontally. Perfectly good in Bgs of 6. You can have some LF javelinmen and 1 or 2 BGs of c...
