Re: Occupying and defending buildings
Also keep in mind if you are defending and a building is within a move of your deployment you can move forward to make contact with the building with the intention of occupying or defending next move. A way to sneak out ahead of the defending move restrictions. That is helpful, thanks. Guess I shou...

Re: Occupying and defending buildings
Here's a new one: played a game yesterday with buildings in my set-up area. Was I allowed to 'defend' buildings upon set-up or do I 'occupy' at set up and need a CMT to 'defend'? We played the latter, I naturally failed the CMT and just moved out of them.

Re: POA question
So, when the rules say both sides are a '-' during an assault in buildings, is that a final - for each side or just one - to add together with any other POAs?
Does that make sense? (My question, that is.)

Re: Terrain placement help/tactics
Please explain how hills help conscripts. As well as getting 2 extra combat dice, Conscripts get 2 dice for cohesion tests if they have another unit giving them rear support (needs to be another unit, self-supported doesn't count for this), or if they are in a Defensive position - ie on a hill (see...

Occupying and defending buildings
Page 60/61 states victorius troops can 'occupy' buildings when the enemy retires and then'defend' in the next movement phase. Page 77 states all troops must pass a CMT to defend. (Not mentioning this does not apply to skirmishers as pernthe CMT table.) So, does a victorious unit have to pass a CMT o...

Howitzers?
After poring over practically every line in the rulebook for literally hours trying to find any rules pertaining to howitzers, I *finally* found one little chart that lists them as taking away + POA for units in 'cover'. Is this their only use? Are there actually any rules anywhere that discuss howi...

Terrain placement help/tactics
As terrain placement is so random, I would like some advice on how others place it. What are some general guidelines? What good does the small or large hill do for the defender? How do you place it? Someone suggested buildings as a defensive measure, good idea or bad? Especiallyt if they end up out ...

Re: Initiative die roll
Ahh, a *total* of 40 points. The rules don't say that, they say they can be any size or type but can't exceed 40 points. That *is* different. We've been adding two 40 point units. I swear there is a decent game in that mess of a ruleset somewhere. Thanks for the help, I am sure to be a regular here ...

Initiative die roll
I was wondering what people's opinions are regarding the extra troops afforded the big winner of the initiative roll. We've only played two games so far, 800 and 1000 points and my opponent won the initiative by three both times and then had a huge advantage with almost an entire extra division. How...

Re: First game rules questions
Thank you. I can't find the rule that allows the Corps Commander to rally, can you please direct me? I believe you, I just want to make a notation. Individual rulaes are hard to find because these are among the worst organized rules ever and the rule can be in any section regardless of heading, or i...

First game rules questions
I have a few first game rules questions that came up. I looked for answers in the forums but found none, so sorry to be repetitive if that is the case: We had a CC in which both sides lost cohesion and became disordered. The Resolutions table states that the Active player retires his units in contac...
