Re: The future of FOG-AM competitions...
Hi Chris, First off I should state that I have played FoG version 1 and version 2 extensively. I have only tried one game of v3 (draft) and was not impressed by the changes as a whole although I thought some of the changes were an improvement. I also need to say that I have been involved in the deve...

Re: Roll Call 2016
Does anyone have any views on what steps might be taken to encourage more people to play with 25mm figures? If you have a 25mm army but don't play with it, what would encourage you to play with it at Roll Call?

Re: A new event at the Oxford Club - 6/7 June 2015
Thanks to Tom and Ben for organising an excellent event. I took an Early Macedonian Successor (Antigonos Gonatos) and achieved a tied 3rd place with 2 wins and 2 losses. Playing Ancient armies against Renaissance armies using FoG-R is challenging... My allied Galatian general ended up being killed i...

Re: BELGARUM 2015 - FOG AM open
My army is indeed Mayan. What tactical manual?
I note I am playing Paul in the first round. I played Paul in the first round at Plymouth earlier this month and lost 25-0! I am hoping not to repeat this feat...

Re: Event at Oxford 6/7 June - 25mm
Definitely interested. If you wish to use this approach, how about sub-dividing the first two rounds between A&M armies and Renaissance armies such that an A&M army cannot play a Ren army in these rounds. Then go to a full swiss-chess system in the last two rounds. This might encourage some ...

Re: Slimbridge 25mm Comp results
Colin Evans used Thirty Years War German - Also I believe he scored 24 points not 44. (Colin - apologies if I am wrong!) Andy Unwin used LoA Anglo-Dutch Mike Shepherd used TWY French Mark Fry used LoA Anglo-Dutch (not sure about this). I would also comment that 2 weeks earlier I came last at the Far...

Re: ATTACK! Devizes 20/21 July - Decline in the Mediterranea
Thank you to all our opponents. Four good games.
Our artillery were useless in 3 games and then couldn't miss in the fourth game - taking out 9 elements of superior infantry and defeating two late tercio BGs single handed. Sorry Andy!

Kinked column - BG of 2 Knights
FOG Version 2.0
Battle Groups section - page 2:
In the exceptions for a kinked column, Battle Groups of 2 cavalry, cataphracts or heavy foot are mentioned. A BG of 2 knights is not. Is there any reason for this, or was it simply overlooked?
Came across this in a WoTR game.

Re: FOG at PAW2013
Indeed, I have found Scythed Chariots largely useless in FoG - although I am convinced that they were rarely effective in history. Personally I think I would boost their effect at impact (possibly an additional POA vs undrilled troops?). I would also take away their ability to provide rear support! ...

Re: FOG at PAW2013
Excellent tournament this weekend at Plymouth. 10 competitors for the 25mm competition and 8 competitors for the 15mm competition. Thanks to Andy Clark for his organisation. My Mayans had a great time in the 25mm competition, beating Wars of the Roses, Seleucid and Ancient British armies (a favourab...

Re: Are Elephants viable in V2?
Saw plenty of Elephants in use at the 25mm tournament in Plymouth. 2nd place Paul used a Sassanid army with at least 4 pachyderms. Alexandrian, Seleucid and Carthaginian armies also used Elephants. That said, they also seemed to die quite readily. Elephants are vulnerable to shooting and being overl...

Re: Barbarian Effectiveness
A lot more effective based on my experience in the 25mm tournament at Plymouth too! 650pts on 6'x'4' tables with 1" MUs. I was using a Mayan army - 5BGs of 8MF Superior, Protected, Undrilled, Javelins, Impact Foot, Swordsmen and 4BGs of (3x6 1x8)MF, Average, Protected, Bow, Light Spear. I beat ...
