These patches are now available (see the sticky) as beta so please try them out and let us know if they fix your version. iOS 5.1 has very poor memory management, that is why 5.1.1 came out almost immediately.

Both the iPad and desktop versions need an internet connection to check if there are updates to the already published rules and any new companion guides.

However, the desktop version should allow offline reading.
