Re: FIELD OF GLORY v2 release
Rob I will work something out, the whole POD thing is an expensive option for us and it will be interesting to see what the take up is like, but drop me a pm to remind me Really? An expensive option? Why are you not using a free service that simply hands you a percentage of the sales? At a guess, d...

Re: US Team Tournament 2013
It sure would be nice if the 1st period stopped at 800 BC. This would cut out the Later Neo-Assyrian and Uraritian, which seem to dominate this period because of all the Superior armored cavalry and good infantry they can take. In the 2012 tournament, something like half the armies in this period we...

Re: US Team Tournament 2013
The best way to think about it is that January in Texas will be like August in Belgium. And fortunately there is now a lot of good craft beer in Texas, even in Plano (suburb north of Dallas). You'll probably not see any cows on the streets (after all, it ain't Fort Worth), maybe just some cowboy hat...

Re: Field of Glory goes 2.0 !
Osprey is now in a bit of a bind because of Amazon. While Amazon is their biggest customer, they have lost most of their other small retailers. After all, as previously mentioned, we are paying almost as much for an Osprey book as Amazon is selling it. For that reason, I stopped selling Osprey milit...

Re: Field of Glory goes 2.0 !
So, anyone hear of any good alternatives for FOG? I prefer Impetus, and the Basic Impetus is free, so you can tell people to check it out and then sell them the proper version (with supps) when they like what they see. Yeah, one of my guys has suggested Impetus. I have had it in the store, but FOG ...

Re: Field of Glory goes 2.0 !
Yeah, this should pretty much put a nail in it here at Great Hall Games. If I can't sell the rules along with the minis, then I can't attract new players. Don't have an iPad, store computers are not available to customers. That leaves sending people to load that game on their own. There go the sales...

I guess there is no hope to actually get an author's ruling on expanding before the National Team Tournament in January? If you want precedence. Every single tournament in the world has allowed a base that can feed in to feed in. That is pretty much what we decided. I'll send an official ruling to ...

But what about their effect against fortifications?rbodleyscott wrote:Cool perhaps, but not very relevant on the scale of the game.GHGAustin wrote:It also would have been cool if European armies of the late 17th c. could have formed Grenadier detachments to storm fortifications. Oh, well.

Bombs - What's the point?
So, I see that bombs are allowed to the Buccaneers. I decided to look them up, since I never even noticed them before. The only POA they offer is against Battle Wagons (well, negate the -)? Not even anything against troops in fortifications? That was the most common use. Is that an error? Seems like...

But why would the Swedes need to close the range when they shoot at long range the same as normal muskets (1 die per 2 bases) but hit on 4s and their opponents hit on 5s? Savoyard can have at most 5:1 musket/pike ratio, so at long range they can never force a test against a Swedish brigade. If the ...

OK so at long range you are 3 dice firing on 5s, they are 2 dice on 4s. Both are averaging 1 hit per go, the Swedes have to close the range to get their ++ salvo foot into combat. At close range you should avarage 3 hits ( 6 dice on 4s) against his 2 dice on 4s averaging 1 hit. He would probably ha...
