Re: so are some staying with FOG 1.0?
My post was in response to someone's comment regarding the legality of passing notes to another person about the changes. I posted the link to suggest that unless you copied the actual pages of the book/text/whatever, sharing information about mechanical changes would not be in violation of anyone's...

From what I understand, there is very little that is actually copyright protected in a game -- at least not so much the part players are interested in.

Re: Roman / Mediterranean Village
Nice work. Good terrain makes better game, I think. I know what you mean about squeezing them in. I play 28mm, and I can only fit 2 buildings and a fountain on the "large" size village. And that's taking some liberty with the actual sizes. I tried going smaller scale, but with overlarge 28...

Re: Numidian Cavalry.
I think it's a different argument. For the steppe armies it was "feels like cavalry who can skirmish and charge proper enemy, but might be LH so we'll give the option". For the Numidians there are quite a lot of sources, and (though I'm not personally familiar) the sense seems to be "...

Re: dissolving epoxy?
This will be easy if you live in Canada! You can just leave them outside. The temperature at night has been -20C in the Ottawa area lately. bbbrrrrrrrlawrenceg wrote:Another alternative is to put them in a *** freezer overnight and use a hammer and sharp chisel as soon as you take them out.

Quite simply - (and I'm not trying to re-write the rules here - just observing) I would double the VMD and keep the distance they can charge. Other than that, everyone in the same formation moves the same. Close formation troops 2, loose 3, and light 4. This is just an exercise in fun, I'm not advo...

Yes, but it is a myth that mounted move faster than foot. A horse CANNOT maintain faster than walking speed for long periods of time. A walking horse is about the same speed as a walking man. Though I'm on-board with the concepts of your original posts, this statement is not at all true. A ...

Re: Darius I heavy chariots
Hi, I am about to buy (and paint) a Early Achaemenid Persian army, based on Darius I. 25-28mm figures. One of the colourful parts of this army is the Heavy Chariots. I can only find one relief of Darius I in his chariot, here. http://www.livius.org/da-dd/darius/darius_i_t11.html He seems to be in...

I really wanted to go. I know a lot of the guys in the photos, and did a little training myself. I even have most of my own kit! The event was on, then off, then on, then off, then on again. In the end, it was budget reasons that prevented me. I'm sad I missed it. I checked but Greece did not seem t...

Looks good ravenflight! I agree wholeheartedly with your methods. I decorate the ground of my architectural scale models in a similar manner. I'd recommend static-grass instead of flocking. Blend a few colours together to match your own lawn, and sprinkle away. It is more expensive, but very pretty ...

I'd recommend the Arabic markers for the Ottomans. You can find the photos on the first page of this thread. For now I'm just selling them by email/paypal. If you would like some, just navigate to my website and send me an email. Thanks for the compliments! I'll check out your mongol suggestion, I'v...
