Re: Burma Road Kawkareik Pass
It is gamey when the enemy has a "magic" supply source in its rear that it is too stupid to defend. As in this scenario. Automatic win that would never work against a half competent human.

Re: We the People Need Higher Difficulty Levels
Thanks for you comment. But maybe there is more goign on? Except for Panzerkrieg, I found all the campaigns so far (have not played Soviet or Allied campaigns) to be a bit easy but fun enough on the middle (10) difficulty playing iron man blind the first playthrough. I found Panzerkrieg a solid acce...

Re: We the People Need Higher Difficulty Levels
You are a much better player than I am. I find the normal (middle) difficulty of Panzerkrieg more work than I really want. Blitzkrieg middle difficulty was a little too easy, but Panzerkrieg there aren't enough resource points to overcome mistakes. The biggest problem I have is set-up. A few times I...

Re: Panzerkrieg difficulty
I decided to try it again. Just completed Rhzev on the middle difficulty. Won, the Russian attacks eventually ran out of gas, but I hated it. Why? The first time I set up reasonably, but the Russians attacked in mass where I did not expect. Pretty much game over. Not technically lost, but in too big...

Re: Burma Road Kawkareik Pass
Thanks for the comment. Yes, I can do something like that too. But it is very gamey and it depends on knowing what the computer is going to do. I try to avoid this sort of tactic. Which is why I don't play maximum difficulty. There are all sorts pf sneaky tactics to beat the AI, but I hate using one...

Re: Burma Road animations
The way I play this now, is after I finish my turn, I turn off the volume and go do something else until the computer is done playing with itself. I absolutely hate it. Why the developers force us to let he computer slowly take its turn is beyond me.

Burma Road Kawkareik Pass
I have played about 1/2 the Order of Battle DLCs. While some battles are difficult for me at the middle setting, the first one that seems absolutely unfair is Kawkareik Pass. This is the first time I recall the briefing to deliberately lie to the player. Following it led me to a hopeless situation. ...

Re: Burma Road animations
I would prefer not to see the little men throwing grenades, shooting, etc. I guess I am stuck with this. Bummer.

Burma Road animations
I am playing Burma Road. The animations of the Japanese and my allied troops, even at the fastest setting, is taking forever and driving me nuts. Is there a way to disable the animations entirely?

Re: Panzerkrieg difficulty
Before I explain my playstyle, which is hard, but I will try--does anyone else here find the battles in the DLC require more precise play than other DLCs? Such that turns or battles need to be restarted regularly at the middle difficulty? My playstyle is this: read the scenario briefings carefully a...

Re: Panzerkrieg difficulty
I made no announcement to do anything with? I have read several books on Kharkov 1942. And played other wargames on the topic, both paper and computer. So I have some idea of what to expect. Historically the battle was a massive German victory where the Russians performed badly, lost 10x what the Ge...

Panzerkrieg difficulty
I have played a bit over 1/2 the DLCs. The only one so far to give me trouble is Panzerkrieg. I usually play on the middle difficulty level. I don't want to reload a save or restart a battle after I understand the situation. So the battles ideally should not require previous knowledge to understand ...

Re: We the People Need Higher Difficulty Levels
i play this two different ways depending on my mood. Sometimes I want a challenge so I play somewhat carefully and deliberately. Then I want a harder game, though still not nearly as hard as the experts want. Other times I want a more relaxing game like after getting home from work, where I just mov...

Re: We the People Need Higher Difficulty Levels
I would like an option to customize the RP gain per turn and per battle by percentage. So if you want a harder game, reduce the RPs to 80% or 50% or whatever relative to normal. Similarly, if you want more RPs, set it to 120% or 150%. This would give a much finer control than the current difficulty ...

Re: bug: winter war
There isn't really a lot I can add. Some unrelated activities appear to overwrite or modify the counter value. The kind of thing a memory leak, bad pointer, or stack overflow might cause though perhaps the software they used to implement this game is not prone to those problems. I believe I have see...

bug: winter war
There is a bug in the Winter War East Karellia battle where the artillery damage counter decrements decrements. This is quite repeatable. I am playing on a PC version 9.0.7 which I got from steam. The symptom is that some other non-combat actions, such infantry or artillery moving by truck, don't ca...

This isn't game breaking but it is annoying enough to make me give up on Winter War at least for now.
