Yes, that is true when starting a new campaign. However, in this situation, the core force I had just used that day in 1939 campaign was not imported into the 1940 campaign. An older core force from a 1939 campaign I played several months ago was 'automatically' imported. Should this also be the case?

The autosave is no longer there. I tried to replay it and after changing moves and adjusting positions a couple times it still kept freezing after combat so I deleted the file.

The hotfix is not comprehensive. Still getting the freeze. I was in turn 14, I think, of campaign game with AI playing USA and attacking, wins the attack and has the option to advance after combat but then freezes with no further action.
