Re: Cheating opponents!
Hell, I agree with you completely. Of late I have stopped playing completely after several very disappointing situations like you describe. I don't know how they do it but there seem to be a cheat on this. I have had the same experience where waves after wave of units come at me, against an opponen...

Returning player looking for opponent
Used to be a decent player, stopped playing 2 years ago and now back here :) i look for an opponent. 1939, Standard rules and GS 3.10. I don't mind playing Axis or Allies. I am italian and play during evenings mostly. Best would be a player in same time zone who can do at least 1 turn/per day (more ...

Re: Barbarossa / Max-moriss
did you get lucky dice rolls? cause seeing russians killing german armors and mechs in august of '41 seems quite weird expecially given the fact morris had early barbarossa and focused on it (basically this is the strongest barbarossa a player can do). Its really easy to kill scratched and exhauste...

Re: Can we save the Bear, Richardsd vs Morris (no Morris ple
I am not sure, why allied players keep running from the axis on the east normally. Its much easier to recover lots of units casualties with USSR, then lots of lost territory. in any game where soviets tried to hold in '41 (near Dnepr, near Don) i as axis won easily. yes, maybe you slow down germans...

Re: Can we save the Bear, Richardsd vs Morris (no Morris ple
its actually just not viable to defend Moscow, even fully entranched, never moved, with an 8 leader you hardly dent the Aixis units! It's sad to read that this is the case in 1942. There is really some tech imbalance here that is throwing the east front out of balance. One thing the Soviets should ...

Re: Another Morris AAR
Norway is good but just because usually allies don't attack and so Germany don't defend. I mean, if axis wants to defend, given the terrain a couple of Inf and 1-2 gars is enough to make it very hard for allies.

Re: Can we save the Bear, Richardsd vs Morris (no Morris ple
we have too keep in mind always balance. if in the game Barbarossa starts in June 1941 germans barely get close to Moscow. IMO if barbarossa starts in May Germans should have high chances to get either Moscow or Stalingrad, since in RL a barbarossa started in May would have had germans taking Moscow...

Re: Can we save the Bear, Richardsd vs Morris (no Morris ple
Moscow doesn't look good, neither is Caucasus where i think you can lose many units if he attacks. i would fall back to caucasus mountains and let him take oilfields (he will do anyway but you save the troops so you can defend Omsk/Moscow).

Re: Can we save the Bear, Richardsd vs Morris (no Morris ple
yes, winter is maybe the problem expecially in '41. in my games as allies, i always hurt axis during winter if they stay close to me. don't know why in this game it didn't happen.

Re: Can we save the Bear, Richardsd vs Morris (no Morris ple
i agree with saying a strategy must be found on the battleground. What I write is loud thinking mostly I tend to agree but 2 things keeps worrying me: => making rail depot on Romania border made it very easy for Germans to deploy on the South - whether in accordance with RL or not it changed the Ba...

Re: Can we save the Bear, Richardsd vs Morris (no Morris ple
he would have taken Moscow for sure and problably also Stalingrad (or at least getting close to). I do not agree. Just look what happened at Kharkov during winter 1941/1942. Soviet attack threatened deep rears of Army Group South and Germans had to use anything (Police division/ Romanians/ Italians...

Re: Can we save the Bear, Richardsd vs Morris (no Morris ple
i agree with saying a strategy must be found on the battleground. Historically Germany started barbarossa in 22 June, russians tried to fight back (and lost nearly 3M men between dead/wounded/prisoners, this to say in '41 russians were no match for the germans before winter) and STILL hitler managed...
