Now you might ask why no other variants were added. I can't speak on behalf of Sonja or whoever contributed to DAW, but it may be due to time constraints.
In the original, there are around 650 different units in the list. In DAW, there are approximately 1,300 – so already double the number ...

Re: DAW - Der andere Weg - The other way
This map is tricky the first time because one does not know how much needs to be diverted to the sides. I think I recall having a 6 spotting recon and 5 spotting fighter in my first playthrough which helped massive.
That’s right; on a map as elongated as this one, a broad overview is ...

The ‘Jeddah’ (Dschidda) scenario marks the start of the actual offensive on the Arabian Peninsula. The mission takes place entirely on the western side of Arabia, along the long coastline of the Red Sea. As the British are expecting the main strategic attack to come from the oil-rich eastern side ...

Re: DAW - Der andere Weg - The other way
I have a Fog Of War question for DAW: I have it checked when starting DAW (so FOW on), but still I am able to see all of enemy s units and their movements. When using the FOW cheat code, it only changes the visibility of the hidden mg nests.
When you start the campaign, you can also set the ...

Another example scenario for the upcoming 1942 campaign. Here we see a battle that took place in September 1942 in the Solomon Islands, specifically on Guadalcanal. There, fighting raged for months over the airfields, particularly Henderson Field. In the 1942 campaign, these individual battles ...

Re: DAW - Der andere Weg - The other way
The second scenario in this campaign section, ‘Lebanon’, is, strategically speaking, something of a large-scale flank protection operation. A distinctive feature of this mission is the very limited deployment of core troops. Only 8 + SE units can be deployed. The rest must be handled by the ...

Re: DAW - Der andere Weg - The other way
Thank you for your response. I suppose the inherent imbalance caused by the elite Amulet units also explains why you added the attrition/Naturereignis Grim Reaper unit/mechanic, which only harms the player and not the opponent. I'm still not a fan of how it's implemented, but I understand that ...

I want to ask if this choice was due to time constraints—as I know that creating all of these scenarios and building a plausible alternate history timeline is already incredibly time- and resource-intensive—or if it was a deliberate design choice based on the idea that the German arms industry ...

St Etienne: de French counter attack in turn 14.
I have no problem with units emerging from off map left or right. But getting caught off guard with units SPAWNING at locations next to my units and then surprise attacking is a bit too much. Lost 2 units and 2 heavily damaged.
Here is the ...

Re: DAW - Der andere Weg - The other way
Greetings! I have considered a DAW replay for my next project. I don't quite like +5 Manstein or -5 turns, as those heavily reward map pre-knowledge, especially air waves, so I have settled on the following rules...
That’s an interesting approach you’ve taken there. However, +3 strength points ...

Back in November 2025, I had already shared a few screenshots from the German-Danish War here. Now here is a second series of screenshots from the ‘Skalitz’ scenario. This third mission from the 1866 war against Austria and a number of states of the German Confederation is set against the backdrop ...

Thanks from me too for the clear explanation, Eskuche. The ‘Luftwaffenbauregiment’ basically acts like an aircraft carrier on land. It can be very helpful, but it can also be dangerous, as Eskuche described.
