Good response Ian and I take your point on the forum messages. I cant check that my emails are getting through. All I will ever know is that they have been rejected, as the server sends out an 'undelivered' message. As far as I know, I have verified myself through the spam filter. Still have the Act...

Having received no reply from any of my contact attempts with Slitherine, JDM direct, and through the FoG forum regarding the failed delivery of my pre-order of Immortal Fire, my patience has run out. I wouldn't mind so much if there had been some sort of feedback, but as I paid for this item -in ad...

Surely some bright soul can argue a case for some form of Spearmen to go along with the Pilum/spear hurling swordsman Impact Foot, MF javelin chuckers and accompanied by at least some Cavalry and Skirmishers out of this lot... http://xoomer.alice.it/davmonac/sanniti//indexen.html Nothing new here bu...

I've been using the full set of Foundry paints for 4 years now. The 3-shade-per-colour is a real bonus for non-artists like myself and makes painting life a LOT simpler. The paints have been cooked in high summer temperatures, froze in winter and yet they still pop open and easily stir to a good con...

Many thanks for all that info everyone! Greatly appreciated. Will crack open a bottle of wine and peruse that lot this evening at leisure. Sergio, I agree that the Mirliton figures are superb. Painted up a few of them many years ago and enjoyed every minute. Looking forward to building this army. Th...

Condotta Italian Heraldry
Just back from sunny Roma ( yes yes Italia venti-tre Scozia venti ) and am now inspired to build the Condotta. Figures are not a problem... will use Mirliton for most with a few Essex and others to fill out the army. However, I am struggling to find a solid resource for Italian heraldry. As there ar...

And this does not mean that we don't know that they also carried lances. However, the Strategikon makes it clear that they preferred to shoot at a distance with their bows, whereas the Byzantine doctrine was to charge immediately with lances and not engage in long distance archery. So two lots of s...

So what am I missing? I dont think you are missing anything. Sure, it is good advice to have a mixed force to be able to deal with all situations, but for a learner like me a good solid army like the greeks have is great to begin with. My game plan will be simple and a seasoned opponent will rip me...

My answer is to blu-tac the figures onto the bases they will ( ultimately ) be based on. But faced sideways for easy access to the figure. This usually means 2-3 figures to a base, and therefore in-the-hand for painting. My psyche can no longer cope with painting 12-24 figures on a long strip of woo...

Although the introduction says that each army has a 'ready-to-play starter army', if you look at the lists for each of Hundred Years War English ( Continental ) - (which has the Starter Army), Hundred Years War English ( Britain ) and Wars of the Roses English armies, the Core troops can all match t...

Now that I know Campaign Supplements are planned for the future, my fleet will happily stay in their box until required :-) I'm all in favour of taking boats out of a 'normal' game and putting them in their rightful place ... for the strategic placement of troops ... and ( as in ) Demetrios case, to...

I think you have hit the spot with the 'wondering' davem. I have a feeling that the Fog Team already have plans to incorporate those 'missing' bits ( weather, naval, not-so-allied, etc ) in later add-ons to the rules. It would be nice to know that they are thinking of incorporating these enhancement...

what to do with my fleet
Can anyone console me regarding the large number of lovely Xyston ships I have bought, built and painted over the years, with regard to FoG?
Should they all be considered sunk
... or will later additions to FoG give them hope?
Should they all be considered sunk
