Re: On balance of BK/PK/ES campaigns
I'm not complaining about difficulty. The campaigns can definitely be won by only using cheap units of every class. But the prestige is so tight that you don't get to experiment with a LOT of units Germans have in their equipment roster. Yes, I can afford a couple of Tiger tanks, but then a self-pro...

On balance of BK/PK/ES campaigns
I always find myself short of RP in these campaigns. After repairing the damaged units and upgrading a single unit from one scenario to the next, I have only 200/300 RP left just enough for battle replacements. Seeing how many equipment types the Germany has, which I cannot afford to buy, is kind of...

Re: Efficacy of WaffenSS Spec?
Towards the end of Panzerkrieg campaign I have downgraded the SS arty to 75mm leIG without transport so I could upgrade the tank to Tiger according to CP limit (first H, then E as soon as available). At Kursk the SS Tiger had 5 stars. I couldnt care less for lack of specializations.

Re: Efficacy of WaffenSS Spec?
I am halfway into Panzerkrieg (with 2nd SS specialization), and I fill my SS CP with 1 Panzer, 1 Inf, 1 75mm arty. I find I always stockpile more SS RP than regular RP, so the advantage is that I can always use elite replacements for SS and the panzer is always upgraded to best available model. I gu...

Great game, remembers me of Pacific General
Being a fan of old SSI 5-Star Series, I enjoy OoB a lot, especially the supply system. It remembers me of the old Pacific General (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1741130/Pacific_General/). While old, it still feature some mechanics that were not implemented in other games, such as: - Night turns...

Re: Is looking through the veil still fun? - Using scenario editor to ease the difficulty/break the game
I am using the scenario editor to edit the overpowered heroes on special units received for free in DLC39-40. For example Oleh Dir: from Move +3 Init +3 to Move +1 Init +2. My own rules is the sum of bonus attributes not to be greater than 3 in '39 and 4 in '40.

Re: Why do you still stick with the OG Panzer Corps?
Looks to be PC2 is like Panzer General 3D was for the PG series. I really don't like 3D graphics for a wargame.

Re: Custom and Advanced Difficulty Settings
It is the settings that keeps me coming back for more on this great game Agree. I am currently using a custom difficulty with: Player prestige: 50% AI prestige: 50% Turns: -5 That is a combination between Rommel and Guderian, with a PP penalty for the AI. This way it's like in the old Panzer Genera...

Re: Exaggerated AI reinforcements
No, it was Harkov'42. And I also remember something similar in Vitebsk scenario. It was clearly not scripted, the Soviet AI likes to buy KV tanks the same as Poland buys tankettes in 1939 DLC. Maybe it's because difficulty has 150% AI prestige, but it doesn't feel right anyway.

Re: Exaggerated AI reinforcements
This has nothing to do with the outcome of previous battles. Also it has nothing to do with supply lines, since the game does not abstracticize them. The units can pop-up out of thin air behind your lines if you bypass a insignificant town. Also, I had no problems if the AI would purchase a balance ...

Exaggerated AI reinforcements
Playing DLC, you have probably noticed that towards the end of a scenario, in an enemy held town, the AI will start buying units, usually spamming the most expensive unit it can buy. Playing GC42 East, I have just witnessed the AI buying 5 (FIVE!) KV-1 tanks around a town. Fortunately I was able to ...

Re: Why "3D" Graphics Will Never be Good for PzC
To simulate the classic 2D isometric mode the developer could lock the camera tilt and rotation at a fixed angle and the unit models to display only from a side (facing left or right). A simple in-game option could do this.

Re: Antitank units defence bonus in rough terrain ?
You should not bother to learn all the modifiers, in time you will have enough experience to know when to make an attack or not. The predicted losses is a good indicator, but the most important thing to know is: when the defending unit can fire back (it is not fully suppressed, cannot attack air, et...

Re: Which First?
When you are going to attack a target with both air and artillery, which one is usually better to use first? Thanks for any opinions. As usual, it depends :D If the target has 0 entrenchment level, it should not matter, but then again it depends on target's strength and your air/artillery unit's st...

Re: Spoils of War
I think it depends on difficulty level and your own imposed rules. As I play with Rommel settings and using deducter's equipment mod, I think playing Spoils of War would be too costly to go for a no-reload decisive victory. The benefit in earned prestige would be lower than the cost of repairing uni...

Re: Oleh Dir.
I find the scenario designers went over the top with these special heroes, such as Oleh Dir or Albert Kerscher. I'm using the scenario editor to edit their stats before reaching the scenarios during campaign, so as in 1939 the cumulative bonus points of heroes is not greater than 3, in 1940 no great...

Re: OT: just watched Dunkirk by Christopher Nolan
I have expected an epic movie, but end up feeling like I have watched a low budget TV movie. The Germans are not shown at all (except aircraft), the strategic situation is barely described, no large amount of equipment shown on beach, no fighting except stray bullets and dogfights. Underwhelming I m...

Re: OT: just watched Dunkirk by Christopher Nolan
I think they have made mistakes in regards to Messerschmitts, the model looks like the Hispano type and not "Emil". Also the painting scheme with the all yellow engine cowling came a bit later.

Re: Thoughts on getting started with Panzer Corps
Some tips for besieging a strongly defended city. You need plenty of artillery and you have to neutralize the enemy units in this order of priority: suppress the AA so your air force can strike freely, then the enemy artillery, then the rest of the units. When you are approaching a strong artillery ...
