Re: State of the Build - v1.16 Coming Soon!

I've played the open beta on Steam and the AI seems to be worse now than it was before. The Allied generals are particularly awful, loading up units in areas that are sure to be surrounded and completely abandoning prime objectives such as Verviers and Liege for no reason whatsoever. I know that mak...

Re: Battle of the Bulge has been updated to Version v1.15!

Re: Osprey Campain Series

I actually emailed the editors at Osprey Publishing asking them if it would be possibile to publish a FOG and FOGR series containing a series of battle for a particular period much like they do with the army list books for tournament play. I haven't heard anything back yet.

Osprey Campain Series

Some of the Osprey Campain Series books have a little "Wargaming the Battle" section on the last few pages. They feature a DBR break down of the units involved. I wonder if they will do something similar moving forward now with FOG and FOGR? I would certainly buy something that featured se...

Re: Mid-Republican Legion proportions

I would think historically you would be talking about a Consular Army which was two legions.
4 bases velites
4 bases hastati/principes Legion 1
4 bases hastati/principes Legion 2
4 bases triarii
2 bases equites

Thanks! That's what I thought. It sucks when the memory starts to go.

basing question for triarii v.s. phalanx

Could someone tell me how triarii are based (figures per base) and classified and how that differs from a Greek phalanx a Macedonian phalanx and a Carthaginian phalanx? Don't have a book handy at the moment.

Ordonnance archers in core list

I'm suprised to see that the Ordonnance archers are not required at a 1:1 ratio with Gendarmes as core troops for the French Italian wars army. They appear to be optional? I guess my understanding was that at the time the Cavalry was essentially organized into three man "lances" consisitin...

May be silly questions but I'll give it a go anyways. So if the swordsmen are lined up behind the shot they move forward when contact is made during impact? If the swordsmen are lined up behind the pikes how and when do they get an overlap/
