My read is if you want the Norman help and invasion you leave the block unchecked. Am I wrong? Actually tried both ways

I can't get the invasion advantage. I've tried everything. Played well after 1200 . No war with France. No check mark. New version Invaded England on some tries and well after my William died he suddenly appears in west Britain as an enemy. . What am I doing wrong?

im playing ireland - carefully took all of ireland(started munster) allied with wales and am helping them in briton agenst wessex etc. . closing in on the year 1200 and no norman inasion and the saxons are no real threat to me.
question should the norman invasion be scripted?

Got to love a game that has an option to build a rat catcher. Decided to start a campaign game battling fellow clans in Ireland and came across that decision. Don't know yet if this tops empires but on the way to finding out

right the ui options make it more readable but then the left side buttons like build or units are off screen. so im playing with the options suggested

There is also a UI Scale option in the settings screen. thanks for ideas. i had no problems reading with empires, but definitely wish fonts bigger. will try UI (didnt see this) or the download suggestion (always worried about non game changes not good at computer stuff)
