Indeed....there is no demo. I can try out a $1 pencil at Wal-mart and even return it if I don't like it, yet developers of games like Team Assault and Unity of Command don't see any need for a demo.

No demo, no sale, period.

Not everybody might like their style, which is fine, but to claim that it's ugly is just not fair towards this small team (2), because it's a well polished design which is very refreshing when you still have to deal with monstrosities(!) like these that continue to scare away lots of potential newco...
