Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v2.4
I have had wild swings in opinion on this mod but I have come to realize what is the main problem. The unit stats are different and that leads to a wide deficit in expectation vs combat result. 3 Luftwaffe fighters attacked one Soviet fighter in 1941 and still did not finish it off (even Focke-Wulfs...

Parting Thoughts
I have finally lost interest in this game after maybe 5 straight years of playing, adjusting the equipment file, making personal changes to mods/dlcs, etc. It is an excellent game that only shines brighter the more my attempted improvements lead to unintended consequences and worse gameplay. I have ...

Re: New Projekt: Phcas & AKRebels "PAK"-Mod - RELEASE v2.00
With the loss of Moscow and Leningrad , the war on the Eastern Front would not have ended ! There was also a reserve capital in Kuibyshev ! It is funny how often historical "what ifs" always seem to suggest that the decisive moment was right where things ended historically (instead of say...

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v2.4
However, it may also make sense to concentrate the spamming of SU units during certain turns to create some sort of stronger wave, i.e. not to increase units in total but to have just more at a certain point in time maybe. This is an excellent idea. I had added historical offensives to Akkulas big ...

Cheat Codes
I have never cared about cheat codes unless I was finished playing a game and wanted to see more aspects (different endings, etc.) without spending more time. Slitherine might be the first company to actually publish their cheat codes in their forum. It is a brilliant idea that allows customers to i...

Re: Maelstrom - US Campaign (2023)
I hope you will continue to enjoy the campaign and that the historical inaccuracies won't be too annoying. Cheers. Thank you for the reply. I will enjoy the campaign much more now that I understand your intentions (and will stop limiting myself in terms of historical order of battles). One final no...

Re: Maelstrom - US Campaign (2023)
I just tried your mod. Excellent job naming the units and having good organizations for enemy units (instead of just throwing 10 tanks, 5 infantry, 5 sp artillery, etc.). It is great to see organization in the units with their names. Such attention to detail is very rare and should be highly respect...

Re: Co-op MP game
An excellent and well thought out/detailed idea. I do not know what % of players would enjoy playing along those restricted lines.... A very intelligent idea but I would assume (judging by YouTube and forum interactions) the majority of players want to control everything and be victorious. They do n...

Re: The RNG and Dice Chess
but knowing how unlucky you can get its super exciting to see PzIV destroy entrenched conscripts without loosing ANY of those expensive over-strength points. I think you are accurately identifying an important but understated part of the fun: random results may simulate gambling (or produce a dopam...

Re: The RNG and Dice Chess
Did i got it right - you are saying that for each bad result there would be a good result later on, that might appear on situation, were its absolutely unnecessary? The way you put it is seem to be beyond the basic statistical variation that evens out on it own (which it probably should be, essenti...

Re: The RNG and Dice Chess
Interesting. Thanks for explaining your tests and results. I switched to dice chess after playing Sea Lion and having a Spitfire surrounded by 6 of my fighters and attacked by each, all having a prediction of several hits, and the Spitfire escaping with 1 strength left. I was getting fed up of full...

Sonja, you are an awesome modder with an incredibly deep understanding of strategy. You are that one musician the conductor points to while telling the orchestra “THERE, Right THERE, She UNDERSTANDS!!!” I played your big map for 1914 Ost Front and was consumed for 3 days. You are like a great chef w...

The RNG and Dice Chess
I once tested max sizes of 50 and 80 (representing 50 tank and 800 man infantry battalions). One interesting observation, in between the frequent crashes, was how accurate the random number generator was over the long term. It was often within a few percentage points when calculating 50+ results. Th...

Re: Flexiblity
And one more thank you to Sbpc1 whose mind has more ideas than I can even track. I did not change the spotting for German infantry units because their divisions had a well equipped recon battalion. The spotting for Soviet infantry divisions was reduced to one because they only had a recon company (a...

Re: Flexiblity
I think PC is just enough complex and still offers the arcade look of rolling panzers, its quick enough to play, it still has historical connection (if you look at it in more generalized way, not considering the deffence of tank unit being representation of only front armor) and still could be a go...

So “no one runs into AT guns”......but “camo is ’unfun’ and frustrating?”. Maybe you just do not like AT guns  “People can savescum their way around it”. People can savescum their way around anything. Some people savescum non-stop and that is how they enjoy playing. They could also use the fow ...

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v2.4
Next comes the Soviet, where the infantry was almost not motorized. Motorized infantry from tank brigades is part of tank units. I must confess that I don't know much about soviet motorized divisions and doctrines. I can't tell how they were used. I heard about motorized corps but from what I under...

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v2.4
1. It is incredible how much thought must go into balancing for multiplayer (especially on such a large mod as this). Most players probably want things balanced in single player as well (more likely to quit if they feel things are “unfair”). 2. I do not think having trucks is the same as being a mot...

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v2.4
How do I send a save game file? I can not find a place for attachments in PM. Doing away with trucks is a very interesting concept.... A strategy game should involve decision making (do I put the unit on trucks for increased speed while risking increased vulnerability). Evaluating different courses ...
