Yes, the 3-D graphics and animation. They are expensive to produce and a bottlenect to production.
So no real reason then as they have to make models for every DLC they gonna put out.
Cool I am excited!

Re: Fog II and Pike and Shot II?

Pike and Shot graphics are cool, just a tad more animation would be nice. The battlefield in FOG2 is always in motion, you can see clearly which units are meleeing. It is just a bit more immersive like that. So lowering lances and rocking a bit back and forth would bring so much. Is there any reason...

Re: Took the plunge.....

Oh and what I like more about Pike and Shot... It has units with, well... Pike AND Shot. Ranged and melee weapons in one. So you can actually pepper your enemy before you go mano a mano. FOG2 (at this moment) has this in seperated units, which is normal for the time period I suppose. I hope there wi...

Re: Took the plunge.....

I bought FOG2 and after that I bought P&S because I just like the time period more. The thing is, P&S looks amazing in the manoevering phase. Exactly like those old engravings. However when fighting starts, it is rather static. The FOG2 animations give way more immersion, and also more clari...

Re: First impressions ... Afghanistan '11: Logistics tycoon

But a Distant Plain is played on an Afghanistan map, not a small region containing a handful of villages. Can't compare it like that.

Re: First impressions ... Afghanistan '11: Logistics tycoon

I am really not sure what you are saying here. I though this indeed WAS a logistics game. And the challenge in Afghanistan WAS a logistic challenge mainly. You know, Counter Insurgency, guerrila warfare. Means there are no clear front lines and the insurgents attack, yes, your supply lines to disrup...

Naming units

I am currently going through the campaign and it occured to me that it would be very nice for each unit to carry the name of its 'commander'. It gets you more involved, I am convinced of that. Suppose you start Poland with Kampfgruppe Peiper, Muller, Ott, etc. - you take these guys along during the ...

I like it.
Love the explosions :)

I think I am gonna get the Angry Bird syndrome here. Yes, it's similar to Angry Bird (which is very much a turn-based tactical game). I am gonna keep on playing until I get decisives on every mission (like the 3 stars in AB).
