Just chiming in to say that I really enjoy your AARs. I think good, easy to understand AARs are one of the best ways to learn how to play, and I find yours top notch.
I'm looking forward to seeing how the battle develops. Good luck!

*Hot seat DAG battles *Player purchase for AI army list Let me add my vote for these. Also, a better AI couldn't hurt (the current one isn't bad, but it does have its failings; guess I should go try multiplayer...). I'd also enjoy some kind of campaign. Doesn't even need to be something too complic...

The black display is scrollable with the mouse wheel if you put your mouse cursor over the black area. I wish the scroll history was larger or that it was possible to pause combat resolution during the opponent's turn, though. Often it happens that I'd like to have a look at some combat but I can't...

There's obviously an advantage to ganging up on a unit. My point is that this advantage doesn't manifest itself until the next turn, where melee-combat kicks in. One question, since I'm not very familiar with the game yet: doesn't melee combat kick in during the opponent's turn? In that case, it mi...

Are we really to accept that well-disciplined cavalry would do such a thing, placing themselves in such a poor situation after having carried out a successful slashing attack of the kind cavalry are supposed to perform? Needless to say, the cavalry in question found themselves then in trouble, whic...

On the historial accuracy we are sure this is one of the best models of ancient warfare. There is extensive research in to why combat results have the non deterministic outcomes and the FoG tabletop section can explain these to you as this is where the original designers live. They can give you bat...

As I mentioned up thread, I'm still a newb at this game and I've only played the AI so far, but here's my opinion for what it's worth. I think partially the problem may lie with the tabletop roots of the rules. Combat calculation in the computer version is a two tier system: dice hits + casualty per...

Hi, I'm kind of a newb, I've only been playing the historical scenarios against the AI so far. What I've found so far is that the game is a bit random, yes, but that is usual for these kind of games, and the randomness tends to even out over the whole combat. The problem comes in when the initial im...

slitherine/matrix compatibility
Hi, I've been thinking on getting two of the expansions, Storm of Arrows and Sword and Scimitars, and I just noticed that they're also available for purchase at the matrix games website. However, for some reason, the pricing structure and promos are different there and as far as I can tell the two p...
