Re: Europe Total War
The question could be if some players may assume a defense first strategy... I think the extreme AI turn times, which decrease with fewer enemy units on board, may act as incentive to not pursue that  Yes, a “defense first” approach is possible early on — ETW doesn’t force you to rush offensiv...

Re: Europe Total War
Why wouldn't we be able to purchase new units, if we would gain more prestige by conquering more territories rich with resources? In ETW, the "no purchases" rule is intentional and part of the campaign's design/balance. Historically, the Axis didn't have an infinite supply of new formatio...

Re: Europe Total War
Are you using chat GPT for responses? :D Few other comments: It's unclear what deployment is or is not required to "trigger" additional campaigns. Do I need to bring specific units to Norway to activate it? Same for other campaigns. What does the comment (R) Redeployment: The unit must be...

Re: Europe Total War
Comments on 1.04 up to turn 5. Quick notes for the next update (based on early feedback): - PrestigeForSurrender has been reduced to avoid excessive “easy prestige” from surrender chains. - BefPz-IIB stats have been corrected (it was clearly overtuned compared to other command/recon tanks). - Warsa...

Re: Europe Total War
Comments on 1.04 up to turn 5. 1. Library isn't showing (?) 2. Checking some recon units, BefPz-IIB has much better stats than IIIDs. Is there any reason I wouldn't upgrade my armee HQs (besides historical accuracy) into recon units that can fight and move? The 5 range spotting is nice, but it take...

Re: Europe Total War
Next version – update balanced up to Turn 250 In the next few days I will upload an updated version of Europe Total War, balanced and fixed at least up to Turn 250, with several tweaks and bug fixes. In the current 1.00 release, from around Turn 240 the Axis player often starts the turn with zero pr...

Re: Europe Total War
Great! Glad to see you've considered it. Another idea I had was to have a free "healing/recovery/rest/refit" hex to bring smaller detachments up to full strength for free or minimal cost (5 prestige?). PAKMod already has hospital and other miscellaneous units; perhaps it's possible to set...

Re: Europe Total War
Trying this out. Detailed gameplay comments forthcoming, but one MAJOR balance issue/concern is that unit cost is prorated based on its max strength. A unit with max strength 3 and a unit with max strength 20 both cost 100 prestige. However, to replace one strength point of the 3 strength unit that...

Re: Europe Total War
ok thxs for the infos. I m still playing the scenario, turn 105, i play only one or two turns by day because each turn is long! more than 20 minutes to play all units. moscow is still far but i m approaching... no bug, very pleasant . Some partisans spawn but i keep some units behind.. ('- in afrik...

Hello Hinryu, Im on turn 95, with barbarossa beginning and my waktrought: " in v1.00 a player can basically overrun the whole of Egypt using only the 1940 Italian forces." -> i overrun all egypt without difficuty with italian forces. :) - i took greece without german aid, just with italia...

Hi, that’s normalManstein86 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 29, 2025 5:28 pm Hello, there's no scenario folder in the Europe Total War download folder!? Best regards.
There is no separate Scenarios folder – Europe Total War is a single, huge campaign scenario, so you only see one scenario file inside the Data folder.

Re: Europe Total War
Playing my own campaign (version 1.00), I’ve noticed a few issues that I’m now fixing. For example, in North Africa the Italians historically stalled around Mersa Matruh in 1940, but in v1.00 a player can basically overrun the whole of Egypt using only the 1940 Italian forces. I’m reworking this par...

Re: Europe Total War
But any northern parts of the map will be bigger, no? Yes, that’s true – the northern parts of the map are enlarged by the Mercator projection. You can already see it in northern Europe, and it becomes really noticeable from about the latitude of Iceland northwards. Fortunately, those areas are mos...

Re: Europe Total War
Is Mercator style better? I wouldn’t say the Mercator style is “better” in general – it’s just the base map that most closely matched the kind of layout I had in mind for this project. So I used it because it fit my idea of how the map should look and what areas it needed to cover, rather than for ...
