I tried to rebase a fresh unmoved plane to a Dirt airfield in good flying weather but it couldn't fly because the airfield didn't become highlighted when I clicked 'Rebase'.
I can't remember if planes were already based there and there presumably wasn't room for another one?
Or do Dirts only take ...

There are two sliders in Options > Terrain that let us adjust the sun height and position, it's very useful for making contours and other things easier to see..

You can check it with the 'L'-shortcut, but if I remember correctly, the recon unit must cover the location from where the attack takes place. Just like when you would be attacking the enemy instead of the other way around. Maybe a bit inconsistent, as combat takes place at the hex of your own ...

Accuracy boost is (strength)*(10 + 3*[experience level stars]) percent. So with strength 4, the boost is a lot less.

Combat preview ('L' shortcut when the prediction is visible, or afterward) has the calculations.

Another question about recon planes-
I've put my L-2 Grasshopper over that enemy panzer to give a combat boost to any of my ground units that are planning to attack the panzer, but the L-2's strength is down to only '4', so will the combat bonus be less than if it was '10'?

Look, the Prestige per turn readout is '100' for a 'Tiny' random generator battle at a Default Limited Stock slider setting of '20', (top pic) but even when I set the Slider to its maximum setting of 100, (bottom pic), the PP turn readout is still '100'.

AI doesn't get traits AFAIK. If you hover over their flag in the top right in-game screen it will say "traits: none".

What does 'Limited stock' mean anyway?
I ran a search and came up with a bunch of posts but they still haven't sunk into my dull brain.
I see the default slider setting is '20' (below) but what exactly would happen if I tried sliding it to different positions?

Cheat codes are a valuable tool when scenario designing because they allow us to try out different prestige point allocations etc etc etc and to spy on how the AI is behaving and make adjustments accordingly.
PS- my list of cheat codes is about 5 years old; have any more codes been added since then ...
