Re: War for Civilisation II

Hi guys, The reason my wife was in hospital was to give birth to our first child. Things didn't go according to plan and the little mite ended up in neonatal intensive care. Thankfully she is fine now, and I have her and my wife home safe. At the moment even simple things seem really difficult - so ...

Re: War for Civilisation II

Hi Ian, minor and major cities are depicted on the map as black circles with white centres, and are listed in the rules section. The map I have stolen and corrupted for this campaign has little black dots with names of ancient cities on in a number of provinces. I have kept these on the map for hist...

Re: War for Civilisation II

Turn 4 Diplomatic News - Rome and the Seleucids have chosen to put off their inevitable clash, for now, by renewing their non-aggression pact. The Seleucid web also extends to the bloodied Pontics - who have signed a non-aggression pact in Seleucia. Battles: Danny's Pontics including warleader (500)...

Re: War for Civilisation II

Caesar advances on the troubled province of 52 with 500 pts of lean and mean fighting legionaries. and sends 400 pts to invade the province of 39 and squash some haries. Ta Ian Unfortunately 52 now counts as a naval invasion for Rome - so either this would be your only attack this round (no war fre...

Re: War for Civilisation II

Turn 3 saw the continuing extermination of the Gauls by Rome, but also saw three of the other great powers attack Roman provinces. Ptolemaic invasion of the Italian penisular was narrowly driven off (as was their equally audacious and bloody invasion of Athens), but the Carthagian invasion of Scily ...

Re: War for Civilisation II

45/46 Athenians vs 44/41 Ptolemaics. Phew - a lucky escape for Athenian democracy - the entire pantheon of gods were smiling upon my dice, and cursing the invader's. Great game and exceedingly unlucky for Egypt.

Re: War for Civilisation II

The Parthians have withdrawn(Resigned). Sorry Jonah but there is no way a Parthian army of 400 points stands any chance against the Pontics. The Battle field is simply to small to manoeuvre and LH ave Cav bowmen are as good as throwing pebbles at the opposing army. Sorry for any inconvenience caused...

Re: War for Civilisation II

Turn three sees a Pontic counter attack on the Seleucids, a Carthagian attempt to reverse the historic losses of the First Punic War, Ptolemaic and Macedonian attacks on Roman provinces, a Ptolemaic naval invasion of Athens and continued Seleucid and Roman advances on minor states. Should be interes...
