Re: Mac iOS Yosemite Screwed My Game!

OS X 10.10.2 screwed it up again for me. I have the latest java 8 version on my Mac. I tried installing the Java 6 version but that doesn't seem to override it.

Re: Good WW2 speculative fiction

Stephen Baxter's Weaver is a good read about a Sealion launched after the Germans push on to decimate trapped British troops trying to evacuate from Dunkirk.

@oxford_guy: The only reason I was able to resist his early Barbarossa was because the Soviets had unrealistically high tech. It was actually higher than the Germans' for quite some time. There would have to be made some adjustments to the game to make a 1940 Barbarossa a viable option, in my opini...

Re: What's next?

I've really enjoyed playing 2.0 and am curious about what's next for this game. I would love to see the scale/map at least doubled with units more on a division level. Also...an improved AI would be nice. What do others think? For such effort you'd need probably dozen of programmers working hard fo...

One thing I'd like to see in GS 2.1 is a BEF in France at the start of the 1940 scenario. The Allied AI should implement French General Gamelin's plan to commit it along with the best French forces into Belgium once Belgium is invaded by the Germans. That way, the German player can, if he or she cho...

Sealion

I've been testing Sealion scenarios on GS 2.0, and I don't find the continued resistance of British forces in the UK despite the fall of both London and Liverpool to the Germans to be realistic. I believe that Churchill and his Cabinet would have started to think about minimizing the damage to their...

Thanks!

Means the message_eng.txt script is too short, u can always fix this by adding new rows like INDEX-1301| "" INDEX-1302| "" etc... I do not know how much longer the Mac script is but a hunch is that if you incease this script to 1400 or 1500 indexes you will be fine and can run P...

One of the files in the mod, message_eng.txt, causes the CEAW 1.06 beta for the Mac to crash upon launching the application. I already posted this info to the Freeverse CEAW forum.

Emulation implies that one is simulating PC hardware on a totally different hardware platform, which was the case with Microsoft's Virtual PC running on PowerPC Macs. This is not the case with Parallels' virtual machines, which run only on Intel-based Macs that use essentially the same hardware as P...
