Outside Soviet arms deliveries and some domestically produced stuff Nationalist China used a large variety of imported types, but often only in smaller numbers. I'm fairly certain there's other content in the works, but it's not up to me to make far-reaching announcements. And when it comes to other teams they would be in a much better position to share details about their work anyway.

Defender of the Crown is from the age of 2d pixel art. The pics/anims may be displayed via whatever game engine they had back then, but someone had to create the actual artwork.

Never used them either, so I can't help with that. Back then Lukas made the original Pac cam.

One idea could be to spawn Japanese units nearby regularly, until the player achieves some goal to stop it.

IMO they make most sense as separate units when the maps are on a smaller scale. So Cyrenaica indeed, which I guess was also the idea of the creators. You can certainly mod them to be stronger, but I'd be careful, esp. in Single Player. The AI does use engineers to demine. But question is if it has engineers around to deal with mines. Or what happens if players focus on taking out AI engs asap. In the worst case you could unbalance defensive maps ...
