Re: Hey Developers How about $2200
I really wonder / I actually don't understand why nobody is making any official statement, to be honest... The company simply moved on. They obviously have different ideas and goals, and in the end, it all comes down to checks and balances. I'm very much fond of this idea of crowdfunding, and I'm r...

Re: air superiority tactics?
Unfortunately, I cannot confirm or deny if what you wrote is correct. I only wrote what I deducted from my experience playing PanzerCorps, and since the PC code is not open, I cannot say if you and I are correct. Perhaps some of the more knowledgeable forum users here can help you out. However, I be...

Re: air superiority tactics?
Oh, and another thing: if there are visible obstacles in the path, say, when there is a visible enemy plane in the path, the pathfinder will logically find a way to bypass it. In ground units, this is where Zone of Control check is used (as a component of the pathfinder algorithm), but since the pla...

Re: air superiority tactics?
A clarification: The x-axis count uses a diagonal as well because of the way hexes align when forming a grid (there is no straight horizontal line - it's a zig-zag), and the way the algorithm takes the first hex that it will align it with the rest of the path. So if I use the above example x = 3, y ...

Re: Yours favorite movies about WWII
Recently I watched a couple of rather new Russian WW2 movies on Mosfilm Film Archives which are on YouTube. The entire movies are there, and it's awesome. Liberation is actually a 4-part full-length series (each part around 90 minutes) and it's pretty well done. The aerial scenes of entire battles a...

Re: air superiority tactics?
i was wondering how to setup air ambush (not the AA trap but to catch the enemy plane in transit). i tried to do that several times when i knew the location of enemy plane and the location of airfield where it should retreat to and i tried to block the assumed path, but it never worked intentionall...

Re: Favorite WW2 Books
Has anyone read Blood Red Snow? That looks like a good memoir I would enjoy once done. I listened to the audio book version, which has a very good narrator, and it's an interesting book. Tells the story of a machine gunner from the 24 Panzer Division at Stalingrad. Quite a gripping and picturesque ...

Re: What makes you most wanna ragequit in PZ?
Sometimes I ragequit due to my own mistake, like being too aggressive and reckless, for instance rushing artillery or AT guns forward in their transport, only to realize on the AI's turn that I forgot about this Bunker with 4 vision. Speaking of which, a bunker should not have 4 spotting hexes, unle...

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v2.0
Hi, and thanks for your feedback. I am not sure what version you are playing, if it happens to be "realistic" or "realistic+" then you might want to try the easier "moderate" version for less frustration. The two hardest are truly designed to be hard and to accurately ...

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v2.0
Hi guys! I've been enjoying (more or less) this mod for a while now. I consider myself a fairly good PC player, so I thought I could handle the BE mod, however, it turns out this mod can be a bit frustrating. I understand why, though; it is supposed to model history and this is done quite well (if y...

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v2.0
I just recently found out about this mod and installed it. Mr. McGuba, this is great, I'm really enjoying it. Including Deducter's modifications is a nice touch. Also the unit models and sounds! So great, really immersive. The map is also very well made. The battle of France map (the breakthrough th...

Re: How to use 8.8cm FlaK 36 to best effect?
It's a delightfully rewarding feeling to successfully employ an otherwise difficult unit such as the 88. That's why this unit is probably my favorite, and each turn it gets special attention. Another interesting way to employ it is in fighting a withdrawal. I just finished the Escape from Stalingrad...

Re: Favourite units in each unit class
Might take the PaK 43 this time 'round. Never used it actually. Towed AT was always something I avoided, mainly because of speed, but also because of poor close defense values that make it very bad in cities and forests. Therefore not versatile enough for my game play. How does the PaK 43 fare again...

Re: How to use 8.8cm FlaK 36 to best effect?
There is also the way of a trap if by circumstance you're unable to bring up the 88 in time. Taking the opponent's vision in account, you can set up the line in a way you usually do: a front line backed by artillery, but leave the immediate flank open. Then position your 88 slightly behind, on the f...

Re: Struggling on GC '43 East
No, the 'cost' in terms of prestige is the same. It's just that game mechanics work in such a way that adjacent enemy units prevent you from reinforcing back to full strength, similar as resupply works. So if your tank is damaged from, say 11 overstrength down to 7, you can reinforce to 8 or 9. Depe...

Re: Struggling on GC '43 East
From GC 43 on things get bad really fast. One has to play much more methodically. Taking risks should be avoided really. When encountering an enemy strongpoint, focus on air defenses, then hammer the rest with your air force, always protected with fighters. A good rule of thumb is to have two fighte...

Re: Favourite units in each unit class
SdKfz 222 is a favourite. It gets used plenty until the 234 variants become available. I also like the way Deducter incrased its movement and vision, but at a cost of ammo which can drain pretty fast. Gebirgsjäger are awesome, specially with attack and/or initiative heroes. I used infantry up until ...

Re: How has the A.I been improved ?
...any advancement in AI tactics will make it much more likely for the player to lose his core units, which is really harmful in a campaign environment. Even a simple ability to concentrate several attacks on a single unit will make the AI vastly more deadly than it is now. However, it is possible ...
