Hi Richard

Understood, one issue for me is that I've used Essex figures and ony have 5 figures per DBE, sadly lacking one figure if I were to rebase. Of course I would not recommend the 'tail waging the dog' approach (any more than it already is.)

Ashur dan, the same goes for baggage though though it can be more generic. So I don't think having to model a few more bases per army is a deal breaker. Finding appropriate casualty figures for all your armies might be tough though but if AoW takes off I'm sure scuptors will step up to the plate an...

Hi

I'm assuming that the beta version of the rules are only available to the testers themselves?

Hi

I like the idea of wounded figure bases (I have these for Fire and Fury) but I'm just thinking of the number of armies I have, I'd like to have appropriate, in period, markers for them, that means quite a few....

I only played a handfull of games of Armati and have some really bad memories of protractors and 12.5 degree wheels and such like (I only played Armati V1) so bear in mind my experience is limited. That said I think that AoW allows far more maneuver than my memories of Armati and in the early stage...

Hi

In comparison with Amarti does AoW allow for greater manoeuvre? How does it compare?

Hi

I've also played 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, DBA, DBM and DBR. I also love Fire & Fury - a great ruleset IMHO. If AoW is as much fun this is a great recommendation and I'll certainly give it a go!

One down side of the DBx series of games was that the results of combat were either only temporary (pushed back) or absolute (destroyed). Units could fight turn after turn against unit after unit, with no degradation in their status, until the sudden "Oops, bad roll", where the unit was s...

Hi

Excellent, I always thought one of the strengths of DBM was the extensive army lists.

Hi 'Black Box' - I suspect he is referring to a mechanism (rules) which, by themselves, appear simple and are not necessarily historically descriptive, but give varied and historically arguable results (or at least able to be constured to be historical!) I don't feel that AoW is retrograde, 'cause I...
