Re: Custom campaign - Finland in WW 2 (v1.1 released 15.09.2

Just started this up. Am a little confused... there is no option to start a custom campaign as such, but there is the option to play each scenario in it individually. is that how it works? pick the first scenario and go from there? Assuming this to be the case (Edit: no, clearly this is broken; ther...

Re: Bru's Scenarios

just finished Voyage of Bismarck. I always have liked naval scenarios in OOB. fun, but as others have said, a bit on the easy side. just one step that might work to add more complexity, would be to add attacking aircraft to the carriers. unless it's a bug, neither of the 2 aircraft carriers in my ga...

Re: Couple of things Khakov wise

The second tiger version is actually a really good tank, though a bit slow. the Panthers also started out with mechanical difficulties (Panther D) that got smoothed out in the second version (Panther A). The thing this game gets wrong though, is that the Panther-A was actually quite a speedy tank, e...

Re: modding hospital chance

The game's secrets are all mine now! You'd have to change following code in the Assembly-CSharp.dll file by a de-/compiler tool. public static void CheckIfCommanderGetsWounded(Unit unit, int losses, GameState gameState) { if (losses != 0 && unit.State(gameState).commander != null ...

Bug: Panzerkrieg, Scenario 11 (recapture Kharkov)

This mission has a bug where it will not recognize that I control Krasnograd (one of the primary objectives). I suppose the idea is you're not supposed to lose it, and I never came close to losing it...but the game never ever recognized that I actually controlled it from the very beginning, even tho...

modding hospital chance

Panzerkrieg seems to have set the chance to be hospitalized much higher than previous versions. I often find my guys going to hospital after only taking 20-30% stack damage, which is quite irritating. Sometimes 2 days, sometimes for 4 days... and it carries over to the next map even. It used to be I...

Re: No reward for saving the 6th Army

An all tank/AT core may be doable, but it would definitely be harder.
oh, no question about that. quite a bit harder. especially on forest maps. but doable at standard difficulty.

Re: Burma Road campaign issues

Imphal 44 can be approached more than one way. If someone has a very strong and well maintained force in their campaign, as you appear to have, it's entirely possible to go on the counter-offensive and smash the Japanese prematurely. A perfectly valid scenario outcome, just a very aggressive approa...

Re: Hidden fonctionalities AND ZOOM OUT FUNCTION

Sorry, but I don't buy the "small staff and limited time" excuse for lacking these absolute basics of running a successful franchise. As it is, it's like watching somebody indulging in his hobby which he barely has time for and picks up occasionally when he feels like it. These things hav...

Re: Hidden fonctionalities AND ZOOM OUT FUNCTION

This is definitely not the only game where game variable-names have typos and still work. It's possible that there is an additional default-value hardcoded that the game falls back if something fails in the config files. nope. as I explained, simple things like the "heavy treaded" trait d...

Re: Hidden fonctionalities AND ZOOM OUT FUNCTION

Why do you then think it's not fixed yet? because whoever is responsible is easily distracted would be my bet, and they likely just don't really care if these things are fixed or not if their boss doesn't tell them directly to fix it. as to the rest... you are wayyyy overthinking this. this is not ...

Re: Rails overlays

fingers crossed for next "patch".

though some of us have noted little things like this have not been fixed since the original release of OOB.

I think someone over there is easily distracted.

LOL

just... no.

I was a game developer in the '90s. This is just sloppy coding that literally takes all of 5 seconds to fix.

Re: Hidden fonctionalities AND ZOOM OUT FUNCTION

it's still an error in the file, Gabe. there are TONS of typos even in the CSV file, for that matter. just because you can mod it, doesn't mean it's not still an error. classic case I reported: Heavy Treaded trait in game is not there... because everywhere in the CSV it is typed as "HeavyThread...

Re: Hidden fonctionalities AND ZOOM OUT FUNCTION

likely that typo has been there since long before that... let me check.

edit:

yup. it's in the original OOB: Pacific as well.

so I gather it has been there since the very first OOB.

Re: Burma Road campaign issues

New issue: Burma Road scenario 11 (Imphal '44) There are 2 big waves of Japanese forces in the middle. One you are fighting right at the start, the other is sitting in reserve on the other side of the map (has a Tiger tank sitting in the middle of it). I finished off the first wave by about turn 7.....

Re: Hidden fonctionalities AND ZOOM OUT FUNCTION

You want it ? Getting this level of zoom is very simple (finding out how much was harder, much like a criminal investigation.). Just edit the file variable.txt (in C:\Program Files (x86)\Slitherine Ltd\Order of Battle World War II - Blitzkrieg\Order of Battle - WW2_Data\Content\Data ) replac...
