Re: Question about the in game battles
Those edges don't represent the same thing as the other squares they represent wide ranges of space that only cavalry can properly cover and can use to outflank if other cavalry aren't countering that maneuver. Self placement might still be a good idea but it wouldn't solve that problem. You're ...

You also get +35% decadence overall I think, although this is somewhat offset by the 15 point loyalty buff.

Re: Field of Diplomacy: Winds of Change
Yeah, in another game im playing the Roman player has been quite threatening to me as Averni (RP not real, I hope) but they are also at war with Carthage.
I've found that until Rome has a sizeable chunk of Italy under its control it's very vunlerable to gang up.
In a way it's a shame that with ...

Re: Avoiding Battle
There was an extensive discussion on this. I think pocus clarified that the movement cost only determines total movement for the turn it does not affect the speed of each region movement during the turn. I.e. the turn is broken up into a number of impulses with one region moved per impulse by all ...

Re: Field of Diplomacy: Winds of Change
Ah, that's real sportsmanship! I'd do the same in your shoes plus warring against a player with 2 starting regions isn't very fair I'd say, but that's for those that have ability to do something about it to decide.
I'm ve-e-e-ry far away from any action...
It's tough for Carthage as we already ...

Re: Field of Diplomacy: Winds of Change
That's good I was really worried about an ai Macedonia. Unfortunately with Syracuse being offline for the first few turns I feel too bad to actually war them so I'm going to have to give up Sicily. Now if only the ai would accept my peace offer

Re: Determining who enters what region.
I tested it extensively (see my first post in the tooic) and couldn't determine a logical reason behind who is attacker. We would need Pocus either to enlighten us or dig into the issue (if he has time and willingness of course).
Sorry I had read that but still assumed that since it's code ...

Re: Determining who enters what region.
Thank you! But in order to understand the game and its mechanics better, could you tell us what determines who will be attacker during the turn resolution phase in a scenario where two nations at war have armies in neighbouring regions, which have been issued an order to attack the opposite ...

Re: An All-out Slugfest
I would certainly be interested. Perhaps instead of drafting countries, just set up for balance, some teams like - Carthage - Epeiros - Sparta - Ptolemaios - Seleukos x Rome - Macedonia - Athens - Lysimakos - Antigonos.
Either way id love some total war team deathmatch.
I'm hoping drafting ...

An All-out Slugfest
So I saw that OT game, which I have no idea what it is but there appeared to be two teams. And it got me thinking, I've played about 50-60 turns of truly involved games (after the initial spree), and have only really had one truly epic interesting war. As much as I love the diplomacy and building ...

Re: Field of Diplomacy: A New World Order
Fair points- I'll carry on then since the majority seem keen to continue the struggle. It would be a pity to waste all this managing empire and conducting diplomacy time. Ledo, would you continue as well? You'd be missed!
In the mean time, the other game has been setup so feel free to join if you ...

Re: Field of Diplomacy: Winds of Change
Since the other game is most likely collapsing with the Seleucids leaving, I probably will play Carthage again if I can. I don't play singleplayer and I don't like to have more than one game running at a time, so I'd rather just play Carthage because that's the country I enjoy most, and actually ...

Re: Field of Diplomacy: A New World Order
The Seleucids and the Lysamachids are now out. As much as i hate to, I think that's a bit much for continuing the game.

Re: Field of Diplomacy: A New World Order
Ah, it seems we have decent interest! Makes sense to switch things around for a new game. Let's keep this topic for the current game and I can start a new topic for the new one- Winds of Change (I think Geffalrus is busy with a FOG2 tournament so not active in FOGE atm). As usual, priority will be ...

Re: Field of Diplomacy: A New World Order
I'll play a new game too, although it might get a bit confusing with two diplomacy intensive games running with the same players at the same time. Might actually have to play someone other than Carthage, to keep track of it.

Re: Game Playability
Personally, I don't mind knowing that as a tier 3 nation I am probably not going to win or it's going to be an uphill struggle.
If people want a more balanced mode and the devs want to do it then fair play, personally I probably wouldn't bother playing it as a lot of the flavour of the game for ...

Re: Killer Stacks
I think the supply system is a bit too permissive. Right now there's not much difference between a 5 food consumption stack and a 25-food consumption stack, because if a province is not stripped dry, it generally has enough for everyone - especially when you take the foraging value into account ...

Re: Enemy Fleets/Armies Moving Through Each Other
There is a difference to make between fleets and armies. Army, if they moved opposed to each other, one should repulse the other. If you are sure it did not happen, then identify the turn before the actual movement, then:

Re: Enemy Fleets/Armies Moving Through Each Other
I have encountered this behavior multiple times and with both fleets and armies. The latest instance happened the other night between opposing armies. My interpretation of what I am seeing are 2 opposing armies in regions that are next to each other. They are both given orders to enter the other's ...
