A bit of an update. I had already run through 2 campaigns when I replaced the ac.exe with the one above. Fired up a 3rd persona, and got stuck in the 1st RAF campaign, Battle of Britian. I showed 3 completed missions, but it would not let me choose anymore. Reverted to the backed up version, and fle...

It happened when I plunked the game on my 32 bit Win 7 install on an Acer netbook.

Then, when I added the RAF to my Win7 64 version on the gamer, it cleared all my prior scores.

I wondered why yours stayed up, had figured you'd stuck to the original.

Ah, well, I just got back into the top 10!

Nope, started over, it seems, when I installed the RAF add-on.

Would have much preferred adding onto my old score, but it got flushed...

I'll give it a go, and let you know.

Thanks!

___UPDATE___ Well, that didn't take long, and it WORKS!

Just like the mouse drive one, shift/ctrl do the up and down throttle, and when set, hands off, and the engines keep spinning.

Wunnerful!

My poor, cramped up fingers thank you again...

Yeah, I mentioned that in my review over at CombatSim.com. You can shut off that "Sticky Keys" situation, so you don't get the pop-up. As to the throttle, if you are using a joystick, you have to keep the shift key depressed to keep the props turning. Believe it or not, there are some seri...

Boo-yeah, bloody well right! Had to knock a little rust off, and downed my leader board standing considerably, but it is nice to be in the arcade air again, with some right proper kit, innit? Looks good, and I only had enough time for the Battle of Britian, which got ferocious! Can't wait to get off...

Well, it looks like he is a chip off the ol' block, as he has risen rather rapidly up to #4!

Wow!

I haven't had time to mess with this for a bit, and now I see an impressive 340 shoot-down lead.

The title is yours, buddy...

Yup, that would be it.

Changed to mouse control, no issues.

As to speed control on a different axis, oh yes, as the X-52 is a HOTAS and has a totally separate controller for the throttle.

The ability to change control inputs would fix all that you know...

No idea, eh? Maybe I'll try the demo and see if that is any different... ___EDIT___ I tried the AC.exe from the demo, no help. I think it may be related to the fact that I am using a joystick on the Win7 game machine. It is a Saitek X-52 Pro. The demo plays great on my Win 2008 server using a mouse,...

Strider breaks out his "A" game!

Looks like there is some actual competition out there, as Strider has finally dethroned me as the leading ace.

Congrats, but I'm not gonna just roll over there Bud!

Just like I said in the article, I let the shift key go, the prop stops turning, and I head down un-powered. That is not the case with the netbook, it does keep running, but runs pretty slowly when there is a lot of action. I'd love it if I didn't have to keep the key pressed, as it is a contortion ...

Vista was DirectX 10, IIRC.

You can actually install DX9c in conjunction with V10. I did it, as stated above, with Win 7 and DX 11.

Try that...

Here I sit at the airport in Portland, Oregon on the way to Sacramento, with the fine strains of AirStrike Eagles playing! Youse guys rock! I had tried the 800x600, but the log.html kept showing 1024x768 fail, as per your description. I used the ACFix.exe and it fired up. Kludgy, and the options scr...

Is there a setting I can tweak?

To make an Acer Aspire 1 netbook play nice with Airstrike? It meets the specs, and originally whined about D3Dx_28.dll or something similar, so installed DirectX 9c on this mini-laptop running Win7 32 with native DirectX 11. The DX9 install cured the error, but now I get a white screen followed by a...
