So maybe this was explained somewhere else, but I missed it.
Someone explain how in the final losses after the battles, percentages are like 60-29? But during the battle it's like 62-53? Hope that makes sense...

Im making some assumtions here, but likley 62-53 was the rout levels when the game ended ie you broke your enemy and had 53 % of your army routed at that time.
After the game is basically over , you do get the causaulties table which does report different %'s. The game assumes x amount of men hors de combat are killed wounded MIA etc with obviously more favourable results for the winner. (the victors stragglers wounded etc not being slaughtered) The #'s are really there for fun/flavour. Exactly how those are extrapulated from the state of the armies when the battle ends, Im not sure.

What TheGrayMouser said is right. It adjusts casualties further in favour of winner as per real campaign (recovery of routers, treatment / non-treatment of wounded, etc). Cosmetic for single battle, but I believe it is used to measure starting forces in the next campaign battle.

Check that one as well sdw1000.

Lancier:
Game has no mercy for the loser side then?lol You are happy you have a close-fought during the game (say routs playerA: %50 to PlayerB: %55) then battle ends when player B reaches %60 then there is a huge difference between numbers at the result screen: %27 to %63!? haa... So winner side routed troops technically "return" upon winning the battle?
Richard:
Yes, as they would historically. They would also save a higher proportion of their wounded. The losers would have additional men cut down in the pursuit or deserting

Also the percentages during the game are % routed, not % casualties. The ones at the end are % casualties, and take into account losses during the pursuit, routers returning to the victor's standards etc.

If I was running a campaign that kept track of the Force Points in an army then I would use the final losses percentages, and not the end of battle percentages, to adjust the army's post-combat strength.
