I'm playing around with the idea of having a Ordonnance French army painted for me while I'm working on my Macedonians. One of the reasons I chose this list was because it was small, and I figured teh guy in Hong Kong would be able to get them knocked out quick meaning I would have a fully army painted as I finish up my Maks.
I was considering a list something like this, could people please make some suggestions?
Ordonnance men-at-arms

I don't have the list handy, but my initial reactions are as follows:
* I much prefer 8 bases rather than 6 for your longbowmen. They are a little more durable that way. But more importantly, they can concentrate more firepower on the enemy (remember that 2nd rank bases only get 1 shot for every two, so IF these BG's are forced to act independently, the 8-base BG's will get 6 shots to the 6-base BG's 4 shots).
* In my games, it frequently is more beneficial to have a stong foot melee unit rather than a 3rd unit of knights - if heavy weapon are available, you may want to consider them.
* I don't like making C-in-C's FC's. I would rather them be either TC's or IC's. I usually reserve FC's for doing outflank marches. I would suggest IC+2TC or 4TC.
* I would consider using the points invested in your crossbowmen into a foot melee unit since your longbowmen are so superior to crossbowmen anyway.
Cheers!

That would be great, I'm 18 bases of pike, one BG of slingers and 12 of cav painted for my macs so I'm a long ways away from having a fully painted army. What ever possesed me to paint 48 bases of pike is beyond me! I'm thinking about going Selucid Successor so I can soak up points with elephants until I can get everything painted lol.

We need more painters in the Atlanta area.
If anybody local wants to paint for hire or has painted lead for sale just sing out.

Ok, back on the subject of this list. I'm paying a guy in Hong Kong to paint the army up for me and plan on getting enough models to form it up however I want for different games.
Here is the current list of what I am thinking about, please let me know if I'm leaving anything out:
Model # of Base
Ordonnance Knights 12
Ordonnance Longbowmen 16
Francs Archers 6
Stakes 8
Swiss Pikemen 12
Polearms Infantry 8
Polearms Infantry 8
Swiss Crossbow 4
French or Italian Handgunners 4
Light Guns 2
Commander 1
Commander 1
Commander 1
Commander 1
Commander 1
(having some command based in different ways to reflect how they locally represent command)
