There should be a warning when we're mistakenly about to strike our own units... :|
Some work for next patch, please. :D

better to just not make mistakes and be more careful as friendly fire is in all wars, so no patch needed

The button to napalm is at the far right of the screen, and the target was at the left:
so I had lost sight of the ennemy when calling the bomber, and as I play in max zoom-out mode and was prompt, I made the mistake.

I see we can't target our units with other weapons.

Fix in upcoming update will only allow air strike to hit identified enemy targets... :)

What is the reason behind this? It was a good distinction from other unit attack types and I was able to pull some strikes by predicting unit retreat positions.

The intention was always that all indirect fire platforms (Cobra, Armor, Arty and Airstrikes) would be directed against indetified targets.

Also, not a very effective strategy to use Airstrikes on non confirmed targets?

I like the idea of FF if I'm not paying attention, or press the wrong button accidentally.

Having said that, it should be a stupid mistake by me, and not some glitchy UI.

The problem usually exists between the chair and the keyboard

UI aside, I do hope there is the possibility of FF in the game somehow.

What is The Vietnam War without hearing, "HOLD YOUR FIRE !! HOLD YOUR FIRE !!" being shouted into a "Prick-10" radio hand set. In fact, that would make for a great voiceover when it happens.

It would be interesting if some support units either hit a number of hexes (like a B52 if you add them) or had some spread (like an airstrike or artillery would hit and take out an adjacent hex when missing). A chance of hitting nearby friendlies might reduce the number of cases where you can safely airstrike/arty a problem away.

I'd also imagine an airstrike landing in a village wouldn't make you too popular there. Using heavy fire support around troops/a village should be risky and might make something like mortar support preferable for those cases.

Ryujin, I like the idea of Arty/Air strikes having a chance of hitting the adjacent hex to the one targetted. For Arty, that chance could increase the longer the range. For Air, chance increase the worse the weather. Blowing up a villiage having a major impact on H&M. Would be a great way to work FF into the game.
