This is a very exciting announcement. I think the Battle of the Bulge system should work very well with the 1941 German Moscow offensive. Pocket Tactics mentioned today that Moscow would be out "in weeks". I hope that is correct!

Let me know if you need any playtesters. Have played probably 200 + games of Bulge now and know the system and tactics inside out.

Thanks - forwarded to Jeff Dougherty, who is running Moscow.

I also volumteer for playtesting. Have been playing BotB more or less constantly since last christmas and feel I know what works and what doesn't.

BTW: I have been playing a lot against thedudeabidez over the last months and I highly recommend him for playtesting. He is probably the best BotB-player I have met.

This is a great topic. When will you release it? Who do I bribe to get an advanced copy? :D

I'd be happy to be a less expert tester (and -- for what it's worth -- I'm buddies with the author of The Greatest Battle: Stalin, Hitler, and the Desperate Struggle for Moscow That Changed the Course of World War II).

Actually Jarling kicks my butt more often than not... I'd rank him in the top three or four players I've come across.

I missed the online Q&A, but from the recording it looks like some solid gameplay will be heading to our devices once you launch DoM.
Would the railway available to Soviet troops also have an effect on logistics, or would only be used for moving units farther?
Will the out-of-supply mechanics be similar to those used in BotB?
Some of the supply rules can be too strict when applied to non-mechanized infantry, for example not being able to move or even fight their way out of an encirclement.
In David Glantz's Barbarossa Derailed I read that the Soviet army used cavalry groups for raids well behind enemy lines during the battles around Smolensk. Would similar actions be possible in DoM? It could be something like "no supply checks for Axis until December 19th", but on a unit scale.

Just used for movement right now. Its' main utility as far as I've seen is to move Soviet units quickly to the front, which I think is appropriate.

Yes. All the rules will be familiar to anyone who's played Bulge.

There are actually cavalry units in the game, and we also have some special rules to reflect German air supply during the early part of the battle and Soviet raids behind German lines. Remember Battle of the Bulge, where you could cut a unit off and just move on? Yeah, you really don't want to do that.

Thanks for the clarifications! I like that you are adding some variation to the rule concerning behavior of units cut-off from supply, it would make the Axis more careful about mopping up adversaries on the flanks instead of charging head-on.
Would you consider a change for units that are cut-off but not yet isolated, to be allowed to move/attack depending on a dice roll? The odds could be improved for example if the unit is veteran/elite.

El Alamein (coming next after Moscow) will have more intricate supply rules. For Moscow we chose to emphasize the impact of weather and maneuver -- can't have everything or a game gets too complicated!

Just one question - end of November or December?
