My take on the game

Let me say 1st off as a stand alone game i can see this being some fun.
As a 40k game i'm a little disappointed.
I will admit i purchased this game from steam and steam alone was my only information about the product. the marketing on steam i must say is disappointing. I've been in quite a few discussions with my Blood Bowl League groups(approx 290+ members in all 3 groups) and friends and we as a whole thought from the steam info that this was going to be a TT port.
I won't get into this post about how out of whack some units in this game are when you look at the GW tt table game, mainly gretching for an example, they are way over powered in this game compared to any version of TT or pc games of 40k. even the fluff behind them is just wrong.
Now don't get me wrong as a game in it's own rights i can appreciate devs taking a creative license or such, but some thing need to remain universal.
So i would like to say while a large number of players enjoy this game, which is great love to see indie firms making products, there are also a large number of people who have never heard of slitherine before and will only come across this game via steam. So i think out of respect for it's customers and potential repeat customers that it is made clear that is NOT a TT port and it's own version of 40k on these marketing sites.
surely it's only right that consumers have full information when making a purchase.
Now that being said there are some good aspects of the game, like animations, for a turn based hex game these types of things put this game ahead of other hex/turn based games.
The voice overs are good, but still portrait is so old school that it makes a user wonder exactly what year is this game being released, have i gone in a time machine or something?
stay tuned as i give a more detailed account of what good and whats bad in this game.
all in all i can see how the game will appeal to some and they will enjoy it, while others will not like this game at all and those are likely to be those who purchase the game with the concept that is somehow supposed to be a TT port.
